Thanks! I learned more watching you instruct this student. I also want to thank him too for volunteering.

Great instruction with simple and clear direction. Giving the right amount of instruction and allowing the student time to implement the concept is very challenging. You have a real gift for teaching!

Coach, great progressions in this lesson

Very well taught. I am an advanced player and commend you on breaking things down and teaching an easy to understand progression to your student. I would have him also practice finishing with his left arm high and tucked to stop over-rotation.😊

Nice. This is much more helpful than many of your other forehand videos which have become a little bit repetetive lately

Thanks for this and al your content. QUESTION: In reference to juniors (ages 5-12), who have not yet developed any upper body strength, at what age, or when would you suggest implementing this stroke? How about females, who have even less shoulder strength, overall?

Hi, Thank you excellent material. I have an 8 year old son whom I’m working with wondering about how to implement the teaching for him, as to some extent it appears to apply to intermediate to advanced players?

This is the most correct and modern way to play. Im secretly practicing windshield wiper motion myself, as tennis coach is stopping me doing topspin and windshield thing. Why does he ask me to do a classic way of forehand? I should incorporate more into practice.

sadly this is a true statement.. old coaches are from old school. i told my son to focus on drills not mechanic from the coach. i've seen some coaches ruin my son's mechanic before.. waste of money and time... they rely on private coaches anyway

The swing never really changed. He would’ve hit the wall on every swing. Some good progressions, but very little progress.

He still needs work on his kinetic chain. Particularly his lower body, he's not using his legs and hips well. There's also the issue with his swing. The sound of the ball is very thin and he doesn't hit through the ball enough.
@obeshy Жыл бұрын
He is def hitting much better at the end. The sound when he hits down the alley is soooo much better. And he is so much more precise than me :D I think I would trade my forehand with his, although I hit a lot harder with less effort :D
@Mindless-1337 Жыл бұрын
correct. Way too much movement between the shots but way to thin body movement chain in the swinging part. I wouldnt let him hamper around. But using the knees at the first step.

He is still doing a big swing XD, he drops then pulls racquet behind. Old habits are hard to break.

On the fence about this ‘Modern Forehand’ lesson tbh…is there a reason for not going into an open stance? Because he’s using a modern grip (looks semi western from the distance) which absolutely doesn’t suit a semi closed stance with no right side rotation through the ball. The reason he looks crossed up in his swing is simply because of my above statement. His lower and upper body are conflicted. Open stance, coil and uncoil lesson and this guy would hit 100% better
