It was filmed at the Tabernacle theater in Notting Hill. They also filmed the one with the fun facts. They reseated all of us between the two shows so the audience would look different. Must be great to see him at a live show, he explained at the start that he has to talk straight at the camera when filming these as the finished product doesn't come out right if he treats it like a live show and looks around at the audience members. To date this is the only time I've actually got tickets from TV tapings site, I applied to be in the audience for Not Going Out and Red Dwarf but they're a lot more popular, it's basically a lottery applying but it's free to enter so worth a try.

Feb 2024, and the website is "taking too long to respond". Rather than turn it off, it's probably been neglected and the server has crashed at some point. I found "your house" quite plausible, especially in 2014 with less browser security. The phone knows where I live; it's filed specifically under "home". The built-in browser might redirect to the maps app with instructions to go to "home" and open street view.

@Marhathor4 жыл бұрын
Look, if you're watching from home, you get The Exact Same Effect. If you're not an idiot, which is unlikely these days, you won't be able to figure out that the site was somehow able to access your location, without first asking for permission. Haven't put much thought into it, have you? I certainly was watching from home, I assume you were probably as well. Wouldn't have worked for the live show, but they may as well have had paid actors in the audience, considering we already know the audience was in on it. You may now stop derogating a perfectly fine concept. Worst case scenario: You're wrong, because it's subjective and you're stating I'm factually wrong to the furthest extent. (And no, calling you wrong doesn't have the same effect, because you are objectively wrong, not subjectively, in saying that it bears no resemblance "at-all".)
@chrisjlocke4 жыл бұрын
Point is, irregardless of the audience factor and 'actors' (which is incorrect as well, but lets gloss over that) you can't point any device - mobile, giraffe, toaster or barbeque set at a QR code, and get a picture of your house. Whatever device, even if you're standing outside your own house, is not linked to your own house. Your brother may be a techno-wizzzzzzo-dude with bits, bytes and everything wobbly, but at best, the QR code can take you to a website which will only know your location (if you have GPS ... so wouldn't work if you were at home on a laptop). But for the eighteenth time, this is a pointless argument, as it was a filler segment anyway, only for the setup of the lawnmower joke.

This show would be funny if it would be more real. I get the fact that they are jokes but the pictures with silly names on coffee cups are meant to show that his anecdotes actually happened. Which I doubt. Then, we get some interestingly funny Japanese band, until we find out it's him all along. Well... That ruined everything. Intriguing QR code at the bus stop? Nope... We just made a QR code of someone's house, for nothing. These things are funny until you find out they're made up. He actually says "I love that these people exist!" in reference to the "Japanese band"... Way to build up excitement before tearing it down. I was loving they're existence too until the reveal...

Honestly, taking humour this seriously rather defeats the object

Part of the fun is knowing how much effort Dave goes to in order to set up a joke - most comedians make an observation about something, then say something funny. Dave will set up a website or an experiment or a company or travel across the country and the fun is had when you realise which bits were actually Dave pranking you. It's not less funny because he created it, it's excellent. If you like that sort of thing.
