i find the most challenging thing about mastering a full project is making sure the volume levels are consistent throughout, the option to upload a reference track template when mastering is so amazing
@Alex_Black3 жыл бұрын
I recently checked out your video with mastering with logic stock plugins and it was fantastic. I checked out this video today and took the plunge on getting 9 Advanced, threw a rough track (that I still need to do a lot more tracking and mixing on) just to play around with Ozone. Holy crap. First time after years of trying that I've been able to get a big sound with competitive loudness that I've been looking for! I just plugged in a reference track of a similar genre and I'm finding that in a totally backwards way, reverse engineering this is allowing me to think about my mix a bit more before it's actually ready for this plugin. I can't thank you enough for these videos. I'm a musician that's usually on the road and thanks to the pandemic, I've been missing the stage a lot and stuck at home, using the time to learn how to make my own songs sound the way I hear them in my head. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and making the last year a little less shitty!

I had Ozone 9 Standard and earlier this wk, upgraded to Advanced. Just paid the difference in the price, $200. ONE thing I think Sean failed to mention on the Rebalance module. I believe that you can only do ONE of the three options. And I HOPE that at a later date, Izotope figures out a way to do all three. I watched another YT video on this product the other day, and that presenter said only ONE can be used. Can't add a 2nd Advanced plugin either, so hopefully when I use it for the first time, this afternoon!!!!, I will just have to select the one of the three that needs adjusting the most! It is however, a super duper mastering device, all in all. OH...a thought.....maybe if you need to increase the vocal and decrease the bass or drums, you can do it with the Low End Focus section. I will try that out today.

The Rebalance feature is very cool, and I can see if you were a mastering engineer... this would be extrememly helpful, due to the fact that you don't have the tracks. However... if you're a home studio person, and you're running Presonus Studio One Advanced... you have a "Project" page which is your built-in mastering plugin. It's a separate module that feeds off of the mixing section. You simply select the wrench icon on the track that you want to adjust, and it loads the individual tracks for you. You can then adjust the problematic track and it auto updates the master within the Project/mastering module. Studio One is an amazing DAW.

Thanks Sean. Great Video. I'm particularly happy that they've incorporated the Rebalance into Ozone. It used to be restricted to the iZotope post production software, RX 7; so I'd often have to use RX to balance a stereo mix before pulling it into Ozone.

I'm using Ozone 9 advanced on 10 day trial and its squishing my drums and taking clarity away from the total mix. Using gain matching, I see that my regular WAV file bounced from FL Studio is much clearer and deeper sounding than what Master Assistant spits out. I tried with two diff tracks, same squashed result. I get some stuff may need to be tweaked, but it seems like more work than I'm looking for.
@brennyC5 жыл бұрын
your music Genre matters...
@biancobeats35795 жыл бұрын
@@brennyC Its house music, with a little trap breakdown on the song I'm referring to. I've tried on another more progressive type house track too. I used Majordecibel just to do a comparison (which does a "master" for free) and it came out much brighter and more what I'm looking for.
@SeanDivine5 жыл бұрын
master assistant is meant to be a great starting point... it's just that, a suggestion. Ozone is a professional mastering suite not an automated service. It still takes some tweaking to get the results specific to your song. Once you get a feel for it though, it's one of the most powerful mastering suites out there and can cover any genre / style

Bro, thanks for the video... have a question. During widening your correlation meter peak was going below zero. Doesn't it bother you? Isn't it an indication of BN phase issue?
@SeanDivine5 жыл бұрын
phase correlation metering is not going to be above 0 throughout most mixes unless you have no stereo information - not necessarily an issue, as long as you're listening for actual phase issues.
@MukeshRathore5 жыл бұрын
@@SeanDivine Thanks for reply and Happy New Year 😊 I'm not too sure but ihv heard if a track has phase issue and played on speakers then bass frequencies will suffer. Also I'm wondering what is the significance of correlation meter if it's phase indications doesn't bother much. If possible please make a video on this topic with live example. It will be very helpful for people like me 🙏😊
