Sean- this table is awesome. Cooler than I imagined when you were describing it on the dusty life.

What a weird little table...I love it! I really like how you had the tenons go all the way through that diagonal piece and into the other leg.
@SeanRubino7 жыл бұрын
+Bruce A. Ulrich thanks, Bruce! That just seemed a whole lot easier than trying to route an angled hole and run the leg all the way through.

@Mitermikeswoodshop7 жыл бұрын
that looks like a cool design. what did you have in the water bottle when spraying before the domino installation?
@SeanRubino7 жыл бұрын
+Miter Mike's Woodshop thanks, Mike. It was water. Poly glue needs moisture to activate. It is so dry here I have to add water to a surface when I use poly glue.
@Mitermikeswoodshop7 жыл бұрын
cool that is what i thought but maybe you had some old wise trick.
@SeanRubino7 жыл бұрын
+Miter Mike's Woodshop I don't know about any "old wise trick" but I have been known to do some crazy odd stuff.

@reforzar7 жыл бұрын
Nice. How did those angles go?
@SeanRubino7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Brian. SketchUp and a digital angle gauge were life savers with the angles. The most obscure angle was 29.5 degrees, the bottom at top. The legs had a 25.5 degree and 31.6 degree angle too.
@reforzar7 жыл бұрын
Sean Rubino I'm impressed. The angle between the top and the support needs to be dead on with the length of the top.
@SeanRubino7 жыл бұрын
+Brian Prusa yeah it was satisfactory. If I were to do it again though I would use solid wood and maybe try an angled Dovetail or a splined/dominoed miter for a seamless grain match.
@douglaswassmann28657 жыл бұрын
hey Sean. Is there a reason youre raising the blade through the work piece in some of the shots? Nice design too.
@SeanRubino7 жыл бұрын
+Douglas Wassmann Thanks, Douglas! Yes, I discarded my crosscut sled and the miter gauge is too short for the width of the panel I was cutting. It's just a method adopted when I didn't have a sled.

I hope you don't mind my questions... Are your furniture designs of your own design? I find your stuff very interesting.... Did you make your own dominos?...Use the larger machine or the smaller?..... It looked like hide glue. How do you find it in terms of cleanup and strength. Thanks.
@SeanRubino7 жыл бұрын
+Tom Lagatol thanks, Tom! I'm not a designer, I just like to try new (to me) things. I did make the large dominoes. They are too expensive to buy a bag full for just a few in a project. I use the Domino XL with an adapter to allow use of the smaller cutters. I will eventually buy the Domino 500 (smaller model). I used Polyurethane glue, which was a mistake because it sticks to finished surfaces (which I wasn't anticipating). Hide glue or PVA glue would have been a better choice for ease of clean up and strength. Poly glue is plenty strong. Thanks, for watching!
@tomlagatol44487 жыл бұрын
Sean Rubino.... Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions!

Absolutely, Tom. I try my best to answer all comments and questions.

Very nice design but I am curious about the 'zeta' name. Zeta is the Greek name for the letter Z. But your table looks more like a 7.
@SeanRubino7 жыл бұрын
+Karagiann WoodMade thanks! You are correct. The table could be a Y, 7, X, or any combination of similar letters/numbers. The "Zeta" in the name was chosen because it already has a classification for chairs and furniture. If folks are searching the name "zeta..." why would I try to change the name to something obscure that no one can search easily? It seemed easier to seek out, that's all really.
