A small detail but it was Ivan who basically recruited Nolan or got him involved which speaks to Nolan’s ruthlessness having no problem killing someone who “helped” him and could’ve possibly been friends at this point..

My theory is that Graves probably cut a deal with Laswell or the CIA where in exchange for not shutting down Shadow Company and not exposing what happen in Mexico, they now work with them. And since their main employer aka Shepherd is dead, I can see the CIA being their new employer with Laswell being given the responsibility to watch over them so that another Mexico doesn't happen. And if Modern Warfare 4 starts with TF 141 being Disavowed, I can see this alliance being useful. Like giving them fake ID's and having safe houses and shelters were TF 141 can conduct missions from.

I know I am probably one of the few out there who still genuinely believes this: I still count Phillip Graves as generally a man of good... 1 - If he planned to kill 141/Los Vaqueros, he could have *before* they got back to Alejadro's base. 2 - He gave them a chance to walk away. They were caught off guard he could have ordered to open fire right then and there, but he didn't. 3 - You CANNOT convince me he wasn't royally pissed at Shepherd. He was begging for his men's lives when Konni attacked them. 4 - He shot Soap to wound. That distance, with the experience Graves has, no way he would have missed and the Shadow Soap had as a shield was dead by the time Graves fired. 5 - He didn't finish off Soap when he could have. Easily. Dude was on the ground. 6 - The only time you hear Graves specifically say "kill them" is after Soap and Ghost has slaughtered several of his men and if Shepherd had ordered him to take them out, they're about to escape and cause a whole bunch of other issues so I chalk that up to panic. 7 - He GENUINELY seemed excited to see Farah, Alex, and 141 in the cutscene in MW3. 8 - If Shepherd did order Graves to eliminate 141/Vaqueros... why did he just take all of Los Vaqueros hostage? Why did he keep Alejandro alive? 9 - Shepherd is the one ultimately signing the paychecks and he's very much a *If I go down you're coming with me* kind of man. If he gave those orders, Graves was backed into a wall and *still* gave Soap and Ghost a chance to walk away. 10 - I'm biased because I love him, I'm aware and I'm okay with it (This is just my opinion)

Didn't he burn houses and order the murder of a bunch of civilians in Mexico, which I found weird, because I got vibes that he was a good guy typically, even after the campaign had finished, but I feel like they made him commit one random atrocity to solidify the fact that "he is an enemy now", instead of making him more of a believable reluctant bad guy with morals. (Also in real life I don't think the shadows would agree to kill those civilians just because, but for some reason pmc's are always depicted as "doing anything for money" wheras in real life most are successful ex military hero's who aren't villains, it's just that most militaries don't really pay their soldiers what they should be paying.

I have a doubt circling in my mind. In the cutscene within mw3 storyline, Makarov says to Andrei Nolan whether the intel from their good shadow friend is good or not. Who could be that double agent within Shadow Company. This cutscene occurs before TF 141 captures Nolan.

Phillip Graves has always been interesting to me; we got Shepherd’s machinations, Farah’s struggles in Urzikstan, and Makarov’s ultranationalist ambitions and TF141 trying to put out multiple fires. And smack dab in the MIDDLE of it all, the who’s had dealings with then all (or in Makarov’s case, beef lol) is Graves and his Shadows. Graves is firmly on his own side within that tangled web, and is great at seizing opportunities when they come. He’s the one character whose, to me, future is uncertain when you take all this into consideration. And I can’t wait to see more of him.

OK, there are a few jarring things wrong with the story for season one and I’m a point them out right now. 1) I think having Andrei Nolan be a Australian PMC working for Makarov’s ultranationalist organization, the inner circle, would only make sense if we had seen Nolan be just a mercenary who was only hired to help rescue Makarov. 2) To me, it makes no sense why an Australian dude would think of joining a Russian Political organization with ties to terrorism, considering the fact that Nolan was specifically special forces who had served in numerous anti-terrorism units. The character bio serves no purpose for his lackluster weak motivations - why would he betray his past loyalties with his nation, when he is a freakin’ citizen of a western nation? Why is he so “I dick ride the East”? WHAT HAPPENED TO BASIC STORY WRITING? 3) EVERYONE KNEW IT 😂 😂THEY’RE USING WARZONE TO FUCKING MOVE THE MAIN STORY FORWARD. Jesus Christ 🤦‍♂️

Andrei was charmed by New Makarov’s ideals of a great Russia. A revived Russian empire. And if by extension a united Eurasia that no longer bends its knees to outsiders. Maybe after his birth country of Australia took part of a special military operation with the USA, he felt that this war was nothing of a big excuse of security and control. That Australia has become a police state like many western countries have and doesn’t want to live under that life. And decides to enlist in the Konni PMC and this has him meet with new Makarov. This has him turn on the west to the point that he would want the police state west to burn into hell. And let Eurasia take sole superpower status. A free Eurasia. Free of the central bank. Free of the degeneracy it pushes its divided masses. Free from the false nationalist propagandas. Free from the lie that started by huge terror attacks that hit the USA, East Asia, and the catholic world.
