Bought it last week with a coupon: $89.99. Ordered Milwaukee blades for it from Home Depot: $16.

That's smart because the Bauer or Hercules blades cost the same.

What are the size of the blade so I can get some for mine ?

I have one. Like the saw but I needed a part, ordered it over a month ago. Still waiting for the slow ship from China to show up. But when the saw was working it was great. Now I guess I just have a bench decoration. I am now getting by with my hack saw.

Harbor Freight shipping is very slow indeed. I don't know how they do it but when I signed up for my ITC membership, it took over a week just to send me a plastic card saying I was a "member".

@@ModernDIYProjects Today I went out and super glued the tire or belt drive together. It works great now. The belt is what I have had on order for over a month. So good saw, good super glue but their parts department and shipping sucks.
@ModernDIYProjects3 жыл бұрын
So it may be set up like a belt sander. They use belts also. Maybe you can measure the belt and see if you can find a similar belt for a belt sander and buy that as a replacement. May be a quicker, easier more long term fix. Just buy a belt of any brand as long as it is the same size and away you go!

They used to come with 2 blades in box. Did you check the top of the box? Milwaukee blades fit perfectly. Great tool for the home owner.

Yes they did used to bring blades but they stopped many months ago as a cost cutting effort. If you look at the website description it says "Blade not included".

Thanks for the review Although I am familiar with a bandsaw, I couldn't really picture how you would use a handheld one. Now that I see it makes a nice clean cuts through a variety of materials It will replace my Sawzall or hacksaw or cutting wheel or whatever. Now the question is do I want to wait until Lowe's comes out with a Kobalt cordless model?
@ModernDIYProjects3 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that the cordless ones are double the price (currently) of the corded models.

If you will note, that "dinky little stop" on the saw is held on with two cap screws inside two slots. If you will loosen the screws, the stop will slide out to help steady the saw before starting a cut; slide the stop in to replace the saw back into the carrying case. A whole lot safer. Always safety first.
@ModernDIYProjects3 жыл бұрын
As I noted in the video that I thought it was out far enough when I started cutting but as I continued I realized it wasn't. I didn't want to stop shooting to reposition it so I kept going.

how do you get this sucker to cut straight. ? myne walks and walks. ... pretty much cuts a 45* every time no matter how i hold it.
@ModernDIYProjectsАй бұрын
Yea, it's not easy. That's why most people attach it to something to get more stability while walking your piece through the opening. Set it up on a vise like I did.

Have you had problems with blades breaking on your saw? I use Lennox blade and they break at the weld.

Not really. Maybe because I don't run it too long each time it doesn't heat up enough to cause that problem.

Nope! Wish I was, that way I could bring you a lot more tools. Unfortunately I am only sponsored by my wallet. No one gives me anything for free. That is why donations help fund tool purchases.

How do those blades do with hard metals or thicker metals
@ModernDIYProjects3 жыл бұрын
I haven't used them on anything really heavy. It's just like every other saw blade. Find the best one (brand) for you and go with it. I just got the cheapest ones they had but for heavy stuff I would probably spend a bit more.

Grizzly sells a much nicer one with a stand and table for $100 more. You can save a lot of money buying blades in bulk and brazing them yourself.
@phigonggoi Жыл бұрын
I was very disappointed that it did not come with a saw blade. If I knew that I would not have bought it. That set me back $16+ 10% taxes. I tried to rip a strip of aluminium sheet but unfortunate the blade tilted such a way that it will not allow more than five or six inches of cut because the material or sheet will hit the handle. I was just trying to cut a strip of sheet to get 1" x 12" but I couldn't do it. I look for way to tilt the blade but there is no way of doing it. What a waste of money for my purpose.

DON’T buy one because when parts on it fail and they will. Those parts aren’t available to repair it turning it into a boat anchor with a five foot rope on it.

Don't worry about it. That is why I share with you guys the sales every few weeks when they come out. Currently until 7-8 the bandsaw is on sale for $99.99, so now is a good time to get it if you really want it. They apply the discount at the register so just go get it. That's why now they call them "Instant Savings Coupons". You don't need the physical coupon with you.

talk to a manager. And see if his or she will kick a 16 dollar blade with the saw? And you have to hold firm and even be willing to walk away, Be nice and point out if a 100 $ sale is not worth the price of the blade?
