Is James Jani wrong? James Jani has made a number of attacks on the Law of Attraction. In this video we look at 4 objections to his argument.
This is the first of a two-part series, and in the second video, 4 further objections to James Jani’s arguments will be considered, and what I believe makes James Jani wrong on the Law of Attraction.
TIMESTAMPS
00:00 - Prologue
00:55 - The Tragic Story of Ignaz Semmelweis: The dangers of dismissing insights as “mere coincidence”
03:03 - Who is James Jani?
04:23 - Objection One: James Jani ignores the psychological research
07:09 - Objection Two: James Jani incorrectly assumes that manifestation requires suppressing negative emotions
09:05 - Objection Three: James Jani's misunderstanding of “spirituality”
14:06 - Objection Four: James Jani’s motivated reasoning
15:16 - Epilogue

This was really well edited! Beautiful to look at and engaging throughout. In regard to the topic, the first principle under which I currently see the world is that everything we interact with and deal with is a map of one kind or another, designed to guide us towards a certain destination or outcome. Problems arise when maps are confused as an unbreakable laws, because all maps are created by humans and for humans, and humans are imperfect creatures, and as such the maps they create are imperfect. The best maps we have created so far as a species, in my opinion, are the "laws of physics", which are very useful and predictable maps, but even those aren't universal and applicable in every situation. The Newtonian Paradigm work really well in predicting the behaviors of large objects we interact with everyday, but break down on the Quantum level. Such is the "Law" of Attraction, like the "Laws" of Physics, they should be called the "Map" of Attraction or the "Map" of Physics. But I guess that isn't that catchy ;) Another solid video! Keep it up!

Truth as always is somewhere in the middle. I heard both arguments and this topic has been in many personal conversations. And although you indeed made a good point on why James is not unbiased as he likes to think he is. You still do the same. The problem here is that the burden of proof falls to the believer of a non mainstream theory. You my friend. And yet all you’ve done is arguing how he’s wrong and you’re right. (Cherrypicking some of his arguments btw) But the question remains unanswered. “Why the law of attraction doesn’t work every time” (And before you say it does, but most people tend to attract negative outcomes because subconsciously that’s what they believe more) And even though to some extent that could be also a factor. You would have to have the evidence to support your claim. James doesn’t have to prove it’s inconsistency. You have to prove that this is not inconsistency but just the law of attraction working in the opposite way of which we want it to. Bottom line we’d have to accept that is ok not to know everything. Is not bad having a theory that works for you in a positive way. It’s bad when people take this theory and build scams around it. Which in my opinion was the basic point of his video, that you clearly missed or pretended to have missed. Good quality though.

Thank you for taking the time to watch my video and leave such a thoughtful critique. Well said. Certainly I don't expect everyone to agree with me on a controversial topic. Since you've kindly taken the time to make your comment, I'll respond to some of the things you've written: 1. I agree that the burden of proof would fall on someone advancing an idea/proposition/theory, but only if one is debating whether LOA is true. However, my video is titled "Is James Jani wrong on the Law of Attraction?" The point specifically was to critique his arguments. It took 2 videos to do this since he had 2 videos on this topic. I did refer to empirical psychological studies that support LOA in this video. In the future I may make a stand-alone video more focused on positive arguments in favor of LOA. I didn't do that in these videos because they would've become prohibitively long in my opinion. 2. You write that all I've done is point how "he's wrong and I'm right." While not quite true (since I did agree with some things he said in his video - more on that later) it is valid to critique an argument without necessarily providing positive arguments of your own. During my time as an undergraduate studying philosophy, we would often write papers critiquing arguments and identifying errors in reasoning without providing positive arguments. Many academic philosophers do exactly this. 3. Why doesn't medicine work every time? And yet medicines are prescribed daily. At the heart of LOA is a set of very old psychological techniques found in many ancient traditions. Practices that include gratitude and positive visualization do find empirical support in psychology. Even if it "doesn't work every time" but works a statistically significant part of the time, that to me, indicates it has value and is worth thinking about. 4. I completely agree that's it's bad when people take these ideas and build scams around it. This is not something I "missed." I specifically say in the video that James deserves credit for pointing out instances of misconduct and exposing bad actors in the space. James is a talented content creator and does great work. What I disagree with is that he dismisses the ideas as a result of these bad actors, whereas I believe they have value. For instance, many people make scams around cryptocurrency. That doesn't necessary mean that cryptocurrency itself is bad. For reasons given in the video, I don't believe James Jani's arguments are particularly strong. Once again, I appreciate your respectful disagreement, and your compliments regarding the quality of the video. If all of my detractors were like you, the youtube comment section would be an infinitely more wonderful place. Take care and all the best.

@@ModernIntuitionist You know what buddy? Subscribe! I’m not saying I agree with everything but I don’t agree in everything James Jani says either. I believe people learn and can change their minds through the years. I don’t disregard the LOA or the theories about consciousness. Although I do disagree with the word Law (as for something to be a law it has to work every time and in my opinion I haven’t seen enough evidence yet to be convinced that it does) I hope to live long enough to see the evidence and get the answers we all seek. However I am not going to comment in everything you said just to save you the time, but I do thank you for taking the time to reply. And also thank you for your nice words. Manifesting has helped me a lot and I was skeptic about it. It will not bring anything you like from one day to the other if it's a big goal, but sure it helps to keep your faith on the right path and I think that should be one of the valuable lessons to take from this tool. Most information is free, the problem comes when people start to overanalyze and think that, just because it hasn't happened yet, it will never come. This is when people tend to go to coaches. It requires patience and persistence but like I wrote before, it will happen.

I'm sad that there is a vast majority of people who still haven't figured out that there are no coincidences. I can't remember where i've acquired this information for the first time, but i know that each of us has a pre-defined destiny and a free will and these those are merged together. The multitude of actions we can take over the course of our lives through our free will can either help or hinder us in achieving that which is pre-defined. If we are oblivious to the signs (coincidences/synchronicities) the Universe gives us and don't achieve the pre-set goal in a specific lifetime, we reincarnate and a new goal is given to us, plus the goal of the previous life. That is what some call karmic debt. This guy, James Jani, just wanted to boost his KZbin viewership numbers by contradicting a concept that the majority of people know is true. Like that saying goes: "Bad publicity is still publicity."

@@ModernIntuitionist I think that there are enough people across the web who are Influencers, Motivational speakers, Gurus in different domains, etc. who actually do the research and hard work needed to create such videos. Some seek fame, wealth and recognition, while others just want to inform other people. I'm more of a "behind the scenes" guy who rather gathers important information from different sources and helps people that are already on the right path. Besides, once you have a huge audience, you can't connect with every single person that leaves a comment, which means that there is a 100% chance that you will miss out on information that might give you ideas for future content. This also means that, at one point, you might end up in a content loop which will decrease your viewership numbers and then you'll have to resort to underhanded content making methods like James Jani. There's also the fact that the majority of people aren't ready to hear real talk about spirituality. They are still too focused on the material and scientific aspects of life, so the current spiritual content that's available, even if it's in its infancy stage, is good enough as an introduction.

I need to say this, it the part about repressing negative feelings. The LOA has expanded through so many different "gurus" and organizations who have jumped on the bandwagon of using the LOA as a form to acquire clients to help through tough times. There are those who talk about not feeling good and how that makes an affect on what you receive from the Universe and every time you don't it will drive a wedge in your goals. While I appreciate you taking the time out to make these points, (my own personal opinion), this shouldn't be about breaking down James' points but also talk about others who make claims about feeling bad and why things aren't happening for you as you believe they should. On a personal note, I do believe that if you have negative people around you, it seems more of a struggle to achieve your goals when you have someone who is constantly feeling sorry for themselves and claiming they are just as poor as the homeless person in the street while living in a big house with plenty of food in the fridge (yes I am talking about someone close to me), yet I feel this has affected my production with my business. Do you agree - True or false? Can people close to you basically F your shit up? In other words I'm sick of the "complaint department" when you feel you're at battle to achieve greatness next to the person who says, "good things only happen to other people" (sorry I just hijacked your post but seriously, any thoughts?

Thanks for the comment! I do think that the LOA space has an unhealthy pre-occupation with gurus, and I've mentioned that James does important work to expose bad actors in the space. My video was intended to defend the underlying ideas because James dismisses them as "bad ideas" and pseudoscience, whereas I believe they have value. I also agree that being around people with negative mindsets can harm your productivity/personal growth (it can also become a self-fulfilling prophecy for those people). I would consider those examples you gave instances of manifesting negative outcomes. In those cases, I believe it's important to draw boundaries, and this is especially true for empaths, who tend to absorb people's moods and emotions more easily. Take care, and thanks again for sharing.

Great video, but when you mention that Jani ignoring scientifically-based LOA evidence, then you were not talking about the actual LOA understood by general public. The latter is not just about growth mindset and changing what we have control over it via positive attitude, but also saying that we can changen the reality independent from us by visualization and certain kinds of positive feelings, and this is what has really no science behind it and can be really harmful.

Well.. six years ago me, would have totally agreed with the Jani's video but I no longer have any doubts about universal laws because of my own experiences! We've been doing it all our lives without knowing it. I have experienced shifting into parallel realities even before I come to understand these laws/realities and now it all makes sense. Now I am aware we switch to different states/realities with our imaginations + feelings! It's something I experience daily in my life even though I don't exactly know how to control it, but I try to be more conscious of it, so I can make more pleasant experiences in life. Last night, I was wondering how I haven't seen any skeptic videos for these laws and thought I might look for it later. Today Jani's video was on my feed(without me looking for it lol) At first I had thoughts like... "Ugh he doesn't get it eh?", "No way all my experiences are just coincidences"(not a coincidence when you experience them in your everyday life, specially when they happen exactly as you have imagined), Then I remembered how I used to think similar to them few years ago. @@ModernIntuitionist The difficulty with these types of discussions often comes down to definitions. Two people can easily have similar positions but believe they are disagreeing. By your definitions of the law of attraction I think I completely agree with you and watching James video I feel like I agree with him as well. It seems like with most things the devil is in the details. I don’t believe if someone sits in their room and makes a vision board for a million dollars they will manifest it into their life. BUT I completely believe if you make a vision board and plan on how to reach a million dollars then do affirmations have a positive mindset and take ACTION you will reach a million dollars. And the mindset is the most important point and belief that it is possible. I love the quote wether you believe you can or cannot you’re right. But I think the difference is in action. He was my entry point to finding books like "Think and Grow Rich." There are definitely "grifters" in LOA, and James Jani deserves credit for pointing them out. I never heard of James Janis, he looks very young, so I would ask what are his credentials, what life experiences does he have in his short life. This is when people need to use their critical thinking when they decide to listen to others.

Hi , great information, I personally have never heard of James Jani, he sounds like an agent provocateur, sent in to put ripples into people's, thought process , if you doubt thatz when you falter , I have found personally. When I question my instincts thats when I have made a mistake or not listened to that inner voice. No doubt we all have, at some points in life . I'm quite glad I've never rr heard of him and his thoughts , giving him that much brain time , space, would disturb a thought process . Then he gets his wee doubt in whoever,s head , hopefully with your videos ppl will understand its all part of life . Everyday a school day so to speak. Thank you I really appreciate your time and hope 🙏 ❤ messages in the video,s are awesome. Stay Golden

I like the way you did your analysis. The truth will never be told. Law of attraction is not working for everyone only but few(and that may be coincidence). If truly it works people will not be jumping up and down for one lawofattraction teaching from one place to another. I personally once practiced law of attraction and I ended up depressed that affected my mental health. I believe James Jani's videos.

Thanks for the comment! The wikipedia entry for "scientific law" states as follows (at the time of this writing): "As with other kinds of scientific knowledge, scientific laws do not express absolute certainty, as mathematical theorems or identities do. A scientific law may be contradicted, restricted, or extended by future observations." Scientific laws are idealized approximations of reality. Most actual scientists doing the real work of science tend to be very humble about whether their findings are applicable every time and in every area of the universe. For instance, no one truly knows what the physical laws were like at the precise moment of the big bang for example. Seeing as we have no actual way to test every area of the universe and every moment in time, we have to rely on a method of reasoning known as "induction." I have a video on this subject here if you're inclined: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6S4qpKvZ7ypaZI

Thanks for your comment, and for your very reasonable take with regard to instances of fraud. I share that concern. My video does explicitly give credit to James for rightly pointing out bad actors and examples of misconduct in the LOA space. To that extent, I acknowledge that he has done and is doing important work. However, I also point out that the vast majority of information on the LOA is completely free to access, and no one needs to pay anyone anything to learn about it. To be clear, I do not believe that there is any danger or harm in discussing, debating, or critiquing ideas (of his or anyone else's work). On the contrary, it is IMO, essential to a free society and the proverbial marketplace of ideas. I also plan to discuss falsifiability in my next video. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and engage with me. Peace to you as well!

Would it be a good content? Reviewing these people who has also done amazing help? And maybe some few more who is mentioned in james content? - thank you so much ✍🏻

@@ModernIntuitionist You as well. I'd much rather be arguing like this, than arguing (to most meaning "fighting" like on the Springer show!). I truly feel that people do themselves no favors when they move beyond midfullness, positivity, goals, etc., reasonable handling of the negativity encountered as YOU BOTH mentioned to "frequencies," planes, etc. As an engineer who has recently transitioned to audio/music production, I took interest in my brother's sharing of a video (43X Hz?? - doesn't matter) that claimed to address very specific problems with the body/brain/home/etc, but then "fixed" a whole different set of problems when I looked at the content provider's website. Then there were about 10 contradictions - himself to himself - about whatever scale they claimed had magical "monk" power to heal - specifically defining it as (trying to remember) 7 very special frequencies, then nine, then six - all very special. But it wasn't just a contradiction the number of frequencies recognized, but with the actual frequencies in the differently-populated scales, then another layer few would notice (confirmation bias prevents even looking) was his claims of the (maybe not the right word) octaves/harmonics relationships that weren't related, per the frequencies specified. no relationship at all. Why go into so much detail about something that's nothing, and self-contradictory, leaving yourself open to the occasional Bernie (me) to slap you around? You music calmed me to near sleep - well done. Stop there! But then, just because I was curious and now had a production studio in my home, I ran his recording through my software to see how it looked for either momentary or short/med/long-term frequency response - not a damn thing - totally blunt anywhere near 4XX Hz... not a thing. So, what makes him feel justified to claim a very specific frequency?? The self-contradictory KZbin site had nothing, so I went to his REAL, site. Well, there it was - plastered across the top of the entry page, almost hard to get around was a block or banner of big buttons labeled with the healing frequencies, with a whole set of products for sale for EACH of them (the ones I can't find a bit of consistency among and certainly no "science" or even actual reasoning/arguments - just all the "quantum" crap like the dude you responded to called-out). Why? Why sound dumb (judgmental, I know) AND open yourself to a ton of legitimate arguments if the thing you sound dumb when professing by its nature (frequencies) does no more than the very calming music that - something (frustratingly to me is rarely mentioned but the place where frequencies patterns ACTUALLY apply) - the BRAIN WAVE patterns associated with different mind/body states)? Why not stop there - we'll help you help yourself feel great!??! Yup - it's that whole banner on top of his website - a whole store within his store for more than a handful of "special" frequencies he never addresses at all, really. He, to me, is evil and manipulative. I feel for people who don't realize what they're being sold. My brother sure didn't until I showed him what was really behind the "healing." It's sad and maddening to me! Happy Halloween! (btw - I haven't looked at your page or any other videos yet, so I know little about your bend or affiliation. But, It's on my list - I'm often surprised, mostly by the direction I didn't expect)

I have always considered myself atheist, but I do not subscribe to this extremely dry, logical materialism of the likes of James Jani, Coffeezilla and Thunderf00t. As human beings, our vocabulary is so limited, and our lifespans are so short, that have no way to know everything and test everything, and gather all the evidence. All human language is just poetry, and science is a form of storytelling. That is why I have space for faith in my life. Faith is believing in my own success despite the lack of evidence of what the future holds. Faith is doing my best to increase the chances of a positive outcome despite not knowing all the consequences of my actions down the line. Rejection of law of attraction is like playing sports/videogames without the expectation of winning, which is absurd. But also, law of attraction could be used to fool ourselves/others into thinking some sort of action is effective in creating a positive outcome, when it's not. So, we should also be careful.

Hello Med B: Thanks for taking the time to share your really wonderful, nuanced, and thoughtful perspective, and I agree with everything you've said. I believe LOA (and more broadly "spirituality") is consistent with a secular point of view, and I think it's analogous to how meditation was once considered "woo" but now we find a lot of research showing its physical and mental health benefits, and it has gained greater acceptance in the mainstream. Many skeptics I've talked to tend to speak dismissively about "placebo" and "nocebo" effects but these are some of the most powerful effects in psychology. If we could build a robot and install "beliefs" in it that could cause the robot to heal its own physical hardware that would be an incredible breakthrough. But this is exactly what we find happening in our bodies and minds all the time. You've also raised an excellent point that the undertaking of anything difficult requires the positive belief that one can succeed. For me, it brings to mind this poem from Walter Wintle: *If you think you are beaten, you are; If you think you dare not, you don't; If you'd like to win, but think you can't, It's almost a cinch you won't. If you think you'll lose, you're lost, For out in the word we find Success begins with a fellow's will, It's all in the state of mind. If you think you're outcasted, you are; You've got to think high to rise. You've got to be sure of yourself before You can ever win a prize. Life's battles don't always go To the [one who is] stronger or faster; But sooner or late the [one] who wins Is the [one] who thinks [they] can.* Thanks again for your excellent comment! I appreciate you

But something manifesting itself in the Law of Attraction is just the thinking and feeling for something you want without taking any action because your energy aligns with the universe. In your video, Dr Fournier adds taking action to your focused intention to get what you desire. I badly wanted to a get Masters degree in what was a difficult subject I had little knowledge on. @@ModernIntuitionist There's this one incident that made me confirm loa is real. Before this incident, even if i had made some manifestations, i was also skeptic and considered them to be a coincidence or mere probability. But not this. I won't mention exact details cz it's kind of private. Please excuse me for that. I created an exact situation by scripting once and then forgetting about it. One day when i was cleaning my room, i came across that scripting and my jaw dropped when i realized how accurately it had manifested. Until then, i hadn't the slightest memory that i wrote such a thing. I didn't deliberately forget it, it just happened. Every single thing in that paper had come true in the exact same way. It was something specific, on a specific date, at a specific location, with 'very' specific details. Only thing i did was writing about it once with absolute conviction. Now i remember, when i was writing it i was feeling ecstatic cz it was something that made me beyond happy. Plus i wholeheartedly believed that it had happened (scripting in past tense). I know for a fact that such a thing would NEVER have happened had it not been for what i jokingly wrote ( It wasn't something i needed to survive, i just loved the feeling of achieving it gave). Even with some manifestations that i know they only happened cz of loa, i still don't know how it really works or what exactly we should do in order to make them happen. I suspect it has a lot to do with state of one's mind but i don't think we can force ourselves to that state, no matter what the gurus say. I think it just happens when it happens 🙂

Well made video. I feel that you oversimplified James’ argument to manifestation being “just a coincidence”. His arguments are more nuanced than that. He even mentioned at the start of the video that things like positive thinking, meditation, growth mindset etc. were beneficial when done in moderation. He only pointed out the dangers of such a belief to the extreme and how LoA preachers can deceive and twist the truth to make money. So i have to disagree with your first point. With regards to your second argument, does it really matter what one website says when james has also shown proof of numerous blog posts and articles abt stopping negative thinking? Again his vid is more abt the problems when ppl take this belief to the extreme

@@TopGamesEntertainment Hello Moe N, thanks again for the comment. I think that's wonderful, I believe that now more than ever we need spirituality and meaning in our lives. As far as video editing goes, that depends on the computer and operating system you are using. I use Final Cut Pro X for Apple OS X. If you are using the same, I would recommend Ali Abdaal's Final Cut course which is free on Skillshare (if you get a free trial of Skillshare). As far as scripting goes, my process is to pick a topic I find interesting, write an essay, and then record it on my laptop. I've always enjoyed writing, and I believe the only way to get better is to start wherever you are, practice, and be willing to take risks and make mistakes. Honestly, I'm pretty new to youtube myself, and I feel that I am still learning and trying to improve with every video. You have an excellent attitude and a strong perspective. You will learn everything you need to know after you begin your journey. I have no doubt that you will find your own style and your own voice that resonates with people. Thanks again and all the best with your journey!

@@TopGamesEntertainment Thank you Moe N for the very kind comment. I believe we learn everything we need to know after we take action to begin our journey (I think that may be an insight from Paolo Coelho's the Alchemist which my most recent video is about). This is contrary to what James was trying to explain. In fact you might have miss understood him. I watched the video from the start up to the end . James never concluded that positive thinking is bad but instead he was trying to show how it's over credited and given more of the front seats in changing lives than what happens in real life You can be my wittiness on this, there is no way positive thinking can affect material world. That means we need both thinking and actions but in the most phrase of the law of attraction there are few actually accompanied by the word action. And some psychology facts do not apply to all of us in fact psychology is a collection of Ideas about human behaviours not laws of human behaviours I don't want to sound like am shunning away psychology but it shouldn't be the basis for judgement because it also predicts In my conclusion James Jani gives the other side of getting drunk in self help and failing to realize that your not progressing in action, which is what positive thinking actually does.
@ModernIntuitionist
@ModernIntuitionist 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I certainly don't expect everyone to agree with me. But just to clear up a few things: 1. I don't say that James thinks positive thinking is bad. 2. If you believe "there is no way that positive thinking can affect the material world" then you will be right, because of the self-fulfilling prophecy effect. Studies on placebo for instance show that positive thinking can affect physical and mental health, and therefore can have affects on the real world. 3. I believe actions are also necessary and I don't say that actions are unnecessary. There are many LOA thinkers who agree on this as well. 4. I always find it interesting how many people will downplay how effective psychology is, while at the same time acknowledging how powerful advertising, branding, and social media are at influencing behavior. That is just applied psychology, and the people who understand and leverage its power wield tremendous control in society. 5. Furthermore, "philosophical skeptics" argue that all of human knowledge, including science, is simply a "collection of ideas and not laws." You can see Hume's Problem of Induction, and other skeptical problems in epistemology for many more examples. There is no area in the world in which there is 100% agreement, and that's fine. 6. I have repeatedly said that James Jani does important and useful work (particularly when it comes to exposing instances of bad actors in the LOA space), and he is a talented content creator. We just happen to disagree as I believe many LOA ideas have value.

The more you wish to know comes not from the physical but from the inner spiritual that guides the conscious and subconscious to feed the Soul. The Spirit, Soul and Conscious Mind can not be touched physically yet is the Core of Human Functioning...and to which survives after the physical body dies. If you view this to be true ....you then understand you are a Spiritual Being first and foremost residing in a dense physical casing that is discarded when you move on to a higher realm in the Infinite University.

Perhaps I can help clear up the argument as I wrote the Hermetic principles that the so called Law of Attraction is based in a previous reincarnation as Ancient Egyptian Thoth, Hermes Trismegistus in Ancient Greece. I say so called Law because it isn't a Law, or group of rules as it appears that the LOA Gurus themselves cannot use it or agree on a finished product to teach. Firstly I admit that the positive thinking aspect of the LOA will give one a degree of advantage as the Universe is mental, providing you add action to your equation as there is no effect without a cause and as all creation was once a thought. You are more likely to create a positive manifestation if you think positively. Simply thinking of everything as pure energy and like attracts like and you can manifest from thought alone will not work. A thought is so weak a signal it is not even material it has no matter and thus would not pick up iron fillings or be attractive in any way due to science based examination. Secondly you cannot have purely positive thoughts without negative thoughts or they are just thoughts of a non descriptive nature so quoting the number one LOA advocate and fake Guru Esther Hicks [Abraham does not exist] the rape victim who is a co creator of her rape and the Judge and jury are LOA followers would receive no justice is a very dangerous philosophy to follow or be a victim of. You will also find that on vibrational resonation a good thought vibrates at the same Hz as a bad thought. There is though telepathy and being positive gives you a degree of advantage but as above so below there will be an equal number of bad thoughts to good thoughts and who is the thought Judge anyway. Esther Hicks's idea that the victim is responsible for their own demise strikes me as complete insanity don't you think? Esther Hicks was my personal twin flame coach 2014-16 so I know the Abraham story pretty well and Esther broke down one argument too many with me admitting Abraham, the group of 100 teachers she supposedly channels was made up, there is no vortex and the LOA is a con to get rich teaching bull shit ideas to the humans, we parted company as I am honest and trustworthy. Thought is mind and mind is everything but the sprit that we are [our soul and sub conscious thought gun] will remain a closely guarded secret of the creator and nobody knows what it is. The LOA cannot be proved but as above so below I mentioned that thought percusses creation and no doubt the right thoughts will give you a degree of advantage in your manifestations as you should create a better thing if it derives from a good thought, providing you use the 8th Hermetic rule of Generation or creation and that is to care. Esther hicks does not care and if you can't do, teach. There again please look at the broader aspect, the human race have created a disaster on earth in nearly all they have created so those that can have bad thoughts it would seem and the successful creators can't use the LOA if the Amazon is burning, the ozone layer has a hole in it and as the lungs of the world are snuffed out your poisonous carbon emissions are resulting in such bad health. Big Pharma cannot cure one disease, you are mostly slaves and on and on I could go about the poor state of the world and the people in it as the Indians croak from a man made covid 19 disease that Big Pharma cannot cure. Our crops are GM doused in toxic chemicals , our water contains fluoride and we argue about the LOA being complete bunkum omg it will be soon time for me to rise and sort your messes out as the Messiah. As with everything the truth lies somewhere in the middle. The irony isn’t lost on me that you made a point of saying it wasn’t an attack on Jani yet mimicked his voice in a portion of this video. Using Dr Ignaz as a reference point for James Jani is not only over the top but also a false parallel. You’re argument is as biased as your accusing James of being. As I say the irony isn’t lost on me.
@ModernIntuitionist
@ModernIntuitionist 2 жыл бұрын
Hello Leroy: Thank you for taking the time to watch and engage with my video. I'll respond to a few of things you've written here: 1. The notion that the truth "with everything" lies somewhere in the middle is an example of the argument to moderation, which you can read more about here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_to_moderation 2. The British comedian and social commentator Russell Brand does an American accent in almost every video he makes. I've yet to see anyone claim that his American accent is an "attack" on anyone. In my life, I've had the pleasure of engaging with many British people, and they will often "have a laugh" as they put it, doing a version of my Canadian accent. I would have a laugh with them too. My English accent is not very good. In a private correspondence with James Jani, he didn't take any offence to it, and I've always maintained that James Jani is a talented content creator who does great work. Our disagreement here is purely about the ideas and is not personal. 3. The Dr. Ignaz story is shown to illustrate an example in which institutional cynicism led many skeptics to dismiss as "just a coincidence" something that was a real correspondence in the world (and therefore not a coincidence). Whether it's "over the top" is a fairly subjective call IMO. Anyone can claim that the use of any example is "over the top," but that in and of itself, does not make it "false". 4. As to your comment about my bias, I specifically mention in the video that James deserves credit for pointing out the bad actors in the LOA space. I've also repeatedly mentioned in the comment that James is doing important work by pointing out real instances of fraud and criminal activity. Moreover, the title of my video is "Is James Jani Wrong on the LOA?" The whole purpose is to critique and evaluate James' arguments. On the other hand, James Jani's thumbnail for the video has the words "the dark truth" despite the fact that his video is clearly a one-sided opinion piece. His video also mentions that he is being "as unbiased as he can possibly be," which I don't believe to be the case, since he strawmans the LOA position. I'll leave it to the English majors out there to decide whether or not that is "irony." In any case, I do appreciate that you took the time to watch and leave and leave a comment. I recognize that you can't please everyone (nor should you want to), and I thank you for expressing your disagreement in a respectful way. You are certainly one of more rational and level-headed detractors that have left a comment here, and so I appreciate you.
