I've never cooked potatoes using that style. really good technique. this recipe is perfect but I can imagine a lot of combinations of braising liquids seasonings I could use to make different versions of this concept. thanks a lot. I like flavorful yet simple styles of cooking that don't cover up the star item of the dish

Yummy Yum ! That looks delicious. I broke my wrist six weeks ago. I had surgery on it they put a plate in my wrist.I have to wear a cast for two months. When my wrist heals I will make this dish and a lot of the other dishes. Everything you cook looks so delicious it makes my mouth water. Lol

OMG, this is my new favorite potatoe dish! I just cooked this for lunch, so easy following you along, yet soo delicious. 🤤. Hubby loves it, too. When he asked, i told him that these are Korean "Bratkartoffeln". 😁 Thank you so much! (and yes...I licked the sauce spoon clean myself when noone was looking)

Anyeonghaseyo Helen! ☺️ (Hello, again! Lol 😂 ) So, this is actually one of my most favorite banchans and watching this vlog made me a very happy foodie because I have all of these ingredients and cooking tools at home. 😂😂. Yes, I’m a very basic Korean/American lol ~ but anyway, I decided that I’m going to purchase some of those items that you’ve linked on the other blogs I’ve watched such as the 5-pc wooden spoon/chopstick set and the pots to store rice and the cooking vessel for soondubu and ramen. They are really helpful because I trust your recommendations, so thank you for taking the time to always providing those links. 🙏☺️👍 Regarding this gamjajorim banchan vlog, is this something I can make the night before so I can take it to work the next day to enjoy on my lunch break? I work in a restaurant but I’m so tired of eating sashimi 5 days/week. Yes, I work in a Japanese Sushi Restaurant and even today, I ate a Lara Bar for lunch if that tells you how much I miss my beloved Korean foods from the Motherland lol 😂 I cannot wait to go back to Seoul. My favorite neighborhood is Dongmyo (near Jongno-Ga) because the food places in that neighborhood is soooooo yummy!!! Sae sang ae ~~ I’m hungry now and it’s already approaching 11pm and I’m on a diet! 😂😂😂. Thank you again for your advice and helpful and always informative vlogs! Again, I look forward to hopefully seeing a Chuseok vlog and maybe even a travel vlog of restaurants you recommend in Korea for the next time you vacation there! 🤗🤗🤗

👋Michael 안녕하세요🙏. Thank you for watching and cooking Korean food with me🙏. And, I appreciate you shopping using the online product/ingredients links. THANK YOU🙏 As for this GamJa JoRim banchan, yes, you can make it days in advance. Some like to eat it warm and some prefer it cold over warm Korean rice. If you have some GoChuJang/고추장, bring just a little with you to work, and have it with the warm rice (since you work at a sushi restaurant, I'm sure they'll have warm rice in the kitchen), and this banchan. And, YES, I can wait to go visit Korea again! I would love to film my family's restaurants and their specialty dishes, and share it with everyone. And, I'm thinking about a Chuseok recipe, right now🤗 Thanks again for this comment! Stay safe🙏

In America we have a main dish with sides. Does Korean meal have a main dish?
@ModernPepper4 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris! Of course, there are main dishes in Korean cuisine. Typically, every Korean meal includes, main entree, side dishes, rice and small portion of soup/broth. The only exception of no rice, is when you are having noodles😋

Would it suck without mirim? I don’t think I can find any.
@ModernPepper5 жыл бұрын
HI Khirsah! No, it would absolutely NOT suck if you don't add mirin. The taste of mirin in this recipe is meant to be subtle. If you don't have access to purchasing mirin, use chicken broth instead, and it should still turn out YUMMY😋 Also, if you have access to Amazon.com where you live, I posted online product links for the ingredients for this recipe (including mirin), which can be found on my blog @ bit.ly/2NRDyYh Please do let me know how your potato turns out! Share a photo of it on your social media and please tag @ModernPepper🙏 I would love to see your creation😎
