It's like a instinct type thing. A "full send" personality. There's something different in some people that they can't do back flips because the mental block. Jason definitely has less of whatever that is. Risk aversion? But not quite. Someone has to have a word for it.

@nixiestarlight158
@nixiestarlight158 3 жыл бұрын
@@clintonleonard5187 Even though by the final level, Jason STILL didn't listen to what he was told about keeping his feet together. The guys teaching them just seemed to give up trying to fix his error, and instead just told him he's doing amazingly. He STILL flailed his legs around when he did every jump, and STILL he was kicking one foot off the ground, then the other, and doesn't tuck his feet and legs closer together until at LEAST halfway through the jump/spin. The people in the comments saying Jason is something like a parkour savant need to actually watch the video, and pay attention to how much Jason is doing WRONG, while Brian does WAY better at learning the proper way to do the technique! The only real issue Brian has in situations like these is he loses confidence in himself WAY too easily! Like, he gets the technique down, but then when he goes to attempt it after that, most of the time, he tells himself he can't do it and he lost it....which makes his technique suffer, and throws all he just learned out the window!

Dmitri is such a good teacher, even though I am literally bedbound at home, and need a wheelchair out and about, I could still really visualise what he was asking them to do! I also really appreciated his ability to mimic Brian and Jason's attempts, so that he could better show them what they needed to amend - you have to be really good at something to be able to do it wrong on purpose! I hope we get to see more episodes at Lache occasionally, just because we're over 40 doesn't mean we are over the hill (well, I mean, I am - see above, but the guys here aren't)

Brian also just thinks too much. He tries to remember every single detail of the trick and consciously perform them in order, but just can't do it without being overwhelmed by the speed everything happens at. Jason focuses on a single thing at once and goes with muscle memory and flow on everything else (eg. he struggles to keep his feet in whenever he has to include something new to the movement), which seems to pay off when you don't have thousands of hours of practice like the coaches do. I think part of it has to do with how magic tricks are performed as a routine in steps, and Brian, having thousands of hours of that type of practice behind him, can't just snap off from it for a couple of hours.
@reggiep75
@reggiep75 3 жыл бұрын
The 'mental mechanics' of it is largely what trips people up as people need contoured into accepting things that feel wrong but are exactly what is needed for the movement and inertia. I remember parkouring off the corners of tables when I was computer training in the 90's, without really knowing what I was doing, and all cos I had way too much energy.
