In the 81 million bank robbery story, specifically how they managed to pull the heist and go under the radar (having the money actually being approved and the international transactions that happened) is way more interesting than just the money robbed.
@MrBanzoid5 жыл бұрын
There was an apocryphal story about a programmer who worked for a bank. When banks calculate interest they round down to the nearest cent. This guy thought he would just move the odd tenths of a cent into a special account that he'd created. This doesn't seem a lot but when you consider that banks process millions of transactions every day, it doesn't take too long to make a lot of money from these tiny amounts. He was caught after two weeks when the bank bosses were wondering who the new millionaire was. All this money came from customers whose interest had been rounded down by less than a cent and it didn't really exist, until the guy put it I to his account. Just shows that money is only numbers in bank's computers.

my school actually fell for an email scam over the summer, huge security breach, the attackers shut down the HVAC, the intercoms, and stuff I had no idea they could infiltrate. It's kinda scary. now we're getting new computers throughout the whole school with better protection. therefore very few classes have computers right now. the most troublesome class is robotics. computers are pretty vital for that class

I do like lists like this. I also like to watch builds and product/concept testing. Maybe some friendly competition between you two guys (and a guest or two) would be nice. I would also love to watch an in-depth mini-documentary about a famous rogue (scam artist, scoundrel, grifter, cat burglar, etc.) every once in a while. Oh! How about a rogue's obstacle course? You could have various tasks that traditional "rogues" would accomplish, like picking locks, picking pockets, finding traps, and so on (sounds like D&D a bit), and you two could compete to see who gets through the course the farthest in the least time. And, then you could have guests come on and try to beat your times and distances! (Kind of like Ninja Warrior, except this is more the kind of stuff that actual ninjas would have done... since ninjas are rogues... right?)

I once heard of a banker who transferred all rounding amounts of transactions to his account. At the time, the smallest option was to pay 0.05 Swiss francs. If a bill was 105.08 and 105.10 was payed he has transferred 0.02 to his account. Hope you understand what i mean. Hafe a nice day

I remember being told by my mum about some heist that involved a couple of people taking EXTREMELY small amounts out of bank accounts around £0.01 (British penny) which right now is $0.013 and they did this to millions of bank accounts and they did MULTIPLE transactions of this amount again and again. They got caught because some old lady questioned a bank where did this penny go I don't remember spending a penny and was angry that someone charged her a penny that bank finds out that multiple transactions worth around a penny are being sent to the same account(s) and even transactions from other banks are going to these accounts
