First video from the dryfire requests: How to get a master grip from AIWB.
As always, this is a way not the way.

I'm just seeing this video for the first time and my mind is blown! I've been struggling with master grip out of AIWB, but seeing the thumb placed on the left sight post is a game changer. I'm not as interested in a sub second draw as I am having a great shooting grip when my eyes get on the dot. Thanks Scott, great stuff!

This man helped me create my own muscle memory practice in relation to consistently finding the red dot from holster/low ready /high ready. Practice your draw in a pitch black room. On each failed attempt DON'T fish around with your wrists in hopes of finding the dot. Just simply reset and try again! Soon enough you'll have perfect muscle memory and find it every single time. Also, this should be a given but make sure ammunition is far far away and also about your stance and draw, you'll want to take the above example and incorporate it into your normal draw comfort level that way you're working on new, good muscle memory and not picking up any new bad habits.

I saw a video by John Correia where you showed him the 'not full firing grip' tip. I'm anxious to start practicing it. Thanks!

I like it, been doing pretty much that index like you said due to the PITA of getting the thumb back there, honestly had not thought about how it was facilitating the two hand grip.👍🙌

I will work on just this. I’ve been trying to get my overall draw time down and I’ve been suffering from poor grip or inconsistent grip. I’m going to focus on this until I feel like it’s more natural and then work on connecting the support hand. I’ve watched all your videos but I’ve decided to come back and re watch some of them and somehow I feel like I just peered over this like I thought I had it down or something.

I can’t tell you how great this video is! These kinds of tips are just what I need to get my draw where I want it. I’m in the 1.25 second range from AIWB and really want to work my way down below 1 second.

"Useless frenetic motion" = bad. Unconscious competent = good. I need a whole lot more practice to begin to get close to your skill level Scott. Thanks for taking the time and effort to post up these videos. Be safe! Randy

Very difficult for me to draw like this. With my thumb on the site. I completely agree that it is definitely more efficient to not have to move that thumb. I guess I need more practice. I just feel like I don't have a good grasp on my pistol holding it in that manner. The more I practice the better it will feel though I am sure. I am coming to one of your classes this year and I hope you don't rip me too hard for not having that draw.lol

For that micro drill: I am noticing that my reaction time from the beep is at most .80 to 1.00 seconds to build that full firing grip and clear my cover garment. How should I go about improving that time?

Excellent video! Looks like I am late to the game on this one. Question, if you have a second. With the master grip you show here, are there any issues if you need to take a retention shot, or do you simply move the thumb over without issue? Thanks again!

Weird question, what are you using for undershirts? Looking for something that doesn't get in the way of my draw, and isn't too hot in the summer time

Scott - I am 3 years late to this video, but I have a question for you. I have recently made the switch to appendix - I keep busting my knuckle on my middle finger while gripping the gun during the initial draw from the holster. What should I be doing with my middle, ring, and pinky fingers? Full firing grip? Partial grip until I can clear my belt? Love listening to you on P&S and hope to get out to one of your classes in AZ.

Sounds like your holster is riding to low. Try adjusting (if able) the holster clips so the holster rides just a little higher.

Did you resolve this? I am also doing similar and sometimes i cant my middle finger knuckle around the grip enough, so it doesnt feel like a strong grip

Do you start to move both hands simultaneously but at different speeds, or delay your strong hand movement by a fraction of a second?
