Cool guy stuff only makes you slower. This one is the main culprit of making an otherwise efficient draw slower.

Great stuff! I think this also comes from people starting out practicing that position 1, position 2, position 3 draw stroke with a pause at each step to make sure it’s right, and they just never work getting into that one fluid non-stop motion. So important for an efficient draw!

I think I know who you are talking about 😂😂😂. Got over this before I knew it was a deal. Using what you said about stance. Why have to get ready to move when you can be ready to move. Why draw through steps when you can just put your dot on target. Good philosophies going on here!

So glad you came out with this. So many people are so stuck on technique as if they are bullseye shooting. When an adrenaline flushes through your system all if it goes out of the window - learned that in the ARMY. You have to remain fluid but get rounds into your target to slow down and ultimately stop your threat. Great job and keep these coming!!!

Ron Avery has a video floating around addressing a cool guy and his cool guy hitch he learned from head cool guy. As Ron put it, you can use that IF your presenting from behind a chair or something, that’s ok. Ron has a sub 1 sec draw and shot on target....from a the 3 o clock holster.

I’ve found that the hardest thing for me is to eliminate bad habits. Once you start doing something wrong, it is much harder to start doing it right.
@seanoneil277 Жыл бұрын
A great ski coach I had maybe 20 yrs ago told me, "many people say practice makes perfect. WRONG! Practice makes permanent!" He then told me that engrained bad habits are far harder to un-learn than new habits on a fresh foundation. Over two years, he helped me un-do a lot of self-taught mistakes. And that, honestly, was just the start of my education. The same principles apply to any movement, whether it be repetitive motions at the job, fundementals in a sport, or any kind of learning. The bad habits are hard to break -- and you need to clean the slate before learning the newer, better habit. I took a 2-day RDS class with Scott in Aug '21. He's a fantastic teacher, right up there with that ski coach I mentioned above.

Only guy that I can think of who is well known (for you to mention without naming) and choppy(oppose of smooth) is Chris Costa! His movement looks choppy and fast, but slow in actual time.

Why not use that off hand thumb to apply pressure on the frame to add more recoil control? It’s just sitting there doing nothing anyway
@ModernSamuraiProject3 жыл бұрын
1. It’s useless because it is below the bore axis 2. Apply side pressure can bring your sights off to the north south 3. If you watched the video not sure how I could get more recoil control.
@RedRiverTacticalOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
@@ModernSamuraiProject Your recoil control is great. I was just saying might as well use it since it’s doing nothing else. I can see how adding side pressure could push the sights off however. With the Glock frame being slightly wider than the slide My thumb can put a lot of pressure downward to help control recoil and that’s exactly where the bore axis is not very much below it if any. Great videos also.
