Moderskeppet 3 - The GEEKIEST Cruise of the Baltic Sea

Moderskeppet - the Mothership - is back for a third edition in 2024! Once again geeks and nerds are invading the Baltic Sea for 24 hours of games, hardware, geeky shows...and a lot of partying.

Moderskeppet is an annual event arranged by geeks.se, and it's growing in size every year. Around 1300 geeks and nerds hopped on the boat Birka Gotland (since Viking Cinderella unfortunately has moved to different routes as of 2024) to see just how much fun it's possible to have in a single day.
Onboard the boat you could find tons of games - retro games, indie games, modern games, board games, and a lot more. And of course, a lot of party games too, like Rock Band where you can perform on stage together with others. There's also a huge expo area where partners and sponsors show off the latest and greatest in hardware.
Webhallen, Fractal Design, Arctic, Qnap, AMD, Asus, Corsair, NZXT, Lian Li and a lot of other companies were present at the expo area, and in this video I ask some more or less relevant questions about their latest products to a few of them. But I also interview many others for their views on geek activities and Moderskeppet in particular. I guess I should give a fair warning though: I might not have been completely sober while walking around asking my questions!
Aside from that, there's also music quizzes and gaming quizzes, competitions and merchandise, and tons of amazing people in general. And let's not forget about the performances by Tekmann, Wakkaah, Retrogamingmusic, Syntax Error, Meganeko and Dunderpatrullen! Chiptunes, geeky music, and awesome performances in general.
Moderskeppet is an amazing combination of geekdom and party - and in 2025 they have two boats, one in May and one in October, so make sure you don't miss them.
