So the only characters that could see him was the blind man, his dog and the baby. This implies that those that are ‘innocent’ and without judgement are able to sense him, but surely isn’t not being judged the same as being invisible? I’m confused

It's very confusing but I think I kinda get it he was nothing special a nobody so he was invisable not worth noticing It's very artistic if not alil weird

the guy with the dog was invsiable as well hes holding on the dog he wasnt blind for sure because why would a blind man wear glasses
@veevsu Жыл бұрын
My theory is that because he is just an office worker with no money, no particular skills and no connections, that he isn't seen by society. The blind man was shown as being invisible too, with hints towards 'normal' people not seeing his struggles or not including him as well. The baby seeing him can be seen two ways: Either because it sees a person for what it is, because it is innocent and pure (much like with the dog) or as a hero who just saved a baby from being killed, he is finally accepted in society for doing something selfless while risking his own life. Empathy usually is seen as a weakness and not a power sadly. Most people can't see other perspectives, nor can they see a person for anything else than their achievements (getting good grades, having a good job, marrying, getting children, buying a car/house, going on vacations, ect. ...)
@whosthisguy73335 ай бұрын
I took it much the same way. It's a story about a guy who is isolated, depressed and lonely which ultimately leads to him trying to take his own life, represented by him throwing away the canister grounding him. A choice he immediately regrets which is pretty common among people who attempt suicide and he changes his mind. Of course had he gone through with it there wouldn't have been anyone there to save the baby at the end. I think it's less about him being literally invisible and more about his struggles and feelings going unnoticed and becoming visible at the end is representing him making the resolution to get better. Similar to the second short ending with Shun telling his mother "I want to get better."

I can see that people who watched this short clip have no sense of imagination or creativity, hence why most of you are confused. I think its open for interpretation. These films are left for you to create a theory on whats happening, why is it happening, and so on, so dont trash this short film. I loved it!

Interesting. I wonder if this character is some sort of ghost or a lost soul just wondering around in broad daylight as if they were still alive. That would be really cool.

Can someone please explain this film (if you see this). I finished Modest Heroes and this one got me a bit confused on the whole invisible and floating thing.
@TroubleOnTheWaters4 жыл бұрын
I just finished it. I think that this particular character isn't actually invisible, but instead that's how he feels society sees and treats him. So when he tries to hand the woman back her pen, or buy food at the grocery store, he gets no response and feels neglected. I don't know exactly why the baby could see him at the end, but maybe it's a just a way of showing how babies are innocent and nonjudgemental and can see everyone for who they are, pure or not. Also, he floats around because he needs things to keep him grounded. The fire extinguisher and pickaxe could be metaphors for different sources of momentary happiness and things that remind him that he is still somewhat regular and can walk on the same ground as everyone else. Sorry if this response was kinda long winded, didn't know what exactly to address.

@arministired4 жыл бұрын
@@danielcooke7089 sure is.
@KellyJoule4 жыл бұрын
@@danielcooke7089 The meaning that I got from the actual ending is that in order for him to not feel lonely and unseen, he needs to work on his reserved nature that comes from self-hatred and more on being willing to take chances and look beyond his own self. Risking his life to save another, putting himself out there, and choosing to speak out by playing Peek-a-boo (which the game about turning invisible and reappearing), shows that he is actually visible because the baby saw him in the final frame. He can become visible if he goes through with what he wants and interacts with others. Another example of this was the umbrella man's question to him about if he was just going to stay there. "Stay there" meaning he has to try and get better and not wallow in the rain thinking that there is no hope. Because if so, why didn't he just let the wind carry him up and away for good since it's no different from being stuck in a rut.
