Modified 2007 Saleen S281 Extreme - One Take

These Saleen S281 "Extreme" Mustangs were Saleen's last real hurrah. They are the most powerful and rare variant of Saleen's line of modified Mustangs. They claimed 600 horsepower from a supercharged 4.6L V8, although according to the owner of this clean example, it made nowhere near that when they got it. This one now makes 500 wheel horsepower with a soundtrack to match.

04dram04 new edge mustangs are okay. Personally never liked the 94 to 98 cars that much. Someone that isn’t a car person they really don’t look like a mustang. The 05 to 14 cars their is no mistaking them for anything else but a mustang because of their retro looks.

They had around 3 different Saleen body mustangs for various scenes of Barricade in the first transformers. *All 3 were real life cars, not CGI.* All 3 were made by Saleen especially for the film. The main “hero” car started life as a Saleen S281 Extreme, with a 4.6-liter V8 and five-speed shifter, before being turned into the rolling Decepticon, for which the studio added a push bar, emergency light kit, white doors and decals aplenty. Yep. Ford wouldn't license the Mustang for Transformers, probably because of all the Chevy product placement in the film, but they found a loophole in Saleen. Since the S281 legally isn't a Mustang, they didn't need Ford's permission to use it, and Saleen was happy to put it in the movie.

The Mustang isn't loved for being refined or plain.. They tbh are sort of a niche muscle car. You buy it expecting certain things from it. It's probably why I think the 2015/16 Mustangs suck ass, especially coming with a 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder and v8 option. I think anything other than some form of an 8 cylinder engine under a Mustang's bonnet is practically slaughter/sacrilegious as it gets.

@@michaelhillard4158 Terrible take. The latest gen Camaro is one of the best modern cars made, for the price. Outperform the Mustangs in every category, even if it's not by much, it still does. And the LT1 sounds much better than the Coyote, in my opinion. Coyotes low growl just isn't that great.. plus they're very heavy. Then you have the GT's horrible MT-82 transmission.. the list goes on. No one is "jealous" lmao. Camaro fans don't need anything new to come out, unlike the Mustang which still needs improvements. Camaro fans already have what they want.

@@hhasteI don’t really have a horse in this race as I’d never purchase either but, new Camaros are great. In comparison to the mustangs though, they really lack in refinement. Mustang interior until the dark horse was way nicer to be in compared to the Camaro. The new mustang interior is pretty awful too though so I’d definitely say what you choose depends on “brand loyalty”. Another thing the Camaros lack in compared to the mustangs is visibility, camaros feel like tanks. Finally, this is a personal thing as I know majority of the world isn’t my size. I’m 6’7 240lbs, ford and dodge anything fit so much better ergonomically for me than anything Chevy. For me, a Camaro is a no go on some seriously practical levels.

Anyone remember how if you take Mustang to tuner shop in TDU, it shows two options- generic Ford packages and Saleen packages, and you immediately take the option that looks cooler? Then you realise that Saleens are screwed by balancing (even stage 1 Saleen in E-class is slower than generic stage 3 Mustang that stays in E as well, s2 is barely competitive in D- and again, Mustang GT-R is leauges ahead, and Extreme, which is stage 3 package, is C's slowest car full-stop) and become kinda sad because they look and drive awesome?
