I know some of you have been curious about the little bobber sitting in my garage (which my sister is currently learning on) so I thought best to make a video and show of this cute little motorcycle! When I started learning to ride motorcycles, this little 200cc Kikker 5150, custom bobber, kit bike made a great beginners ride! This bike is what taught me how to kickstart (and boy did it teach me 😮‍💨) and was what I rode for the first year of my riding life!
They are pretty cool straight out of the crate and, with a few improvements, my dad was able to turn it into a perfect learners bike for me, and 3 other riders after me!
I hope you all like this one!! ✌️
And, anyone who want's to send me pictures of their bikes, you can email me at:
redrider.canada.bc@gmail.com
PLEASE SEND LARGE CLEAR PHOTOS!
1080p x 1080p is the MINIMUM we can work with, so please do your best at making sure your photos are large and not blurry 🙂 And send more than one if you can as well!
Only motorcycle related emails please - sorry, but I just don't have the time to engage in personal conversations.
Thank you for your understanding.
If you DON'T want your bike highlighted in a future video showing viewers bikes then make sure to mention it in your email. Other than that, expect to see your bike in one of my videos!
If you would like my PO BOX address you can find it in the description to my channel by following this link:

Very cool that you documented all the changes he made. So many changes! I remember him saying that the hardware it came with was woefully inadequate, not enough washers, etc and just little stuff like that that made it a pain to put together. If anyone does order them it’s something to keep in mind that these bikes aren’t really well engineered enough to leave stock for too long. Maybe they’ve changed but that’s what we found with this one.

Yea eh! We are lucky to have an old man who knows a thing or three about making things better! Haha. But man, after the fix-ups its really been a good bike for those of us who have learned on it! 😁

That little kicker has stood the test of time very well. I can't believe that it was actually a tank shifter! Having your dad and his skills made it a so much better bike. The testament of his work is all the family members who have learned and ridden that sweet Bobber. Your dad does some amazing and beautiful work. Great video and I hope the fire is under control! This is an interesting and beautiful motorcycle without unnecessary details. The white color of the T-shirt suits you very well. About forest fires: I hope that this is the work of nature due to temperature changes. I hope that this is not the work of people, it is often with the help of fires that people like to hide deforestation. We will pray for the fires to end.

I remember those bikes. Didn't know they were still around. There was another company in the U.S. called Cleveland Cyclewerks that sold similar bikes, but they went out of business. I highly recommend the Honda Rebel 250 (NOT the 300 or 500) as a beginner bike. I have owned a Rebel 250 since 1985 (not the same one, I've actually had four of them) They were made through 2016. At 6' 240 I'm a bit too big for them, but I still enjoy riding small bikes (except crotch rocket style bikes, not a fan of those in any size) I have ridden them all over my state, and into neighboring states. They will hold highway speeds at full throttle, and can be ridden at full throttle all day. They can be turned into a bobber, but I've always kept mine mostly stock.

Those fires are horrific. The smoke covering the US east coast is dense and hangs around in this Heat. The bike is a good starter kit bike. For anyone wanting to get into custom bike building, it’s a good bike to start on. Mistakes won’t cost you a bunch and it’s a good rider. Anyone can probably put a bigger engine/trans in it. Your dad did a great job. A Police Officer gave you a summons for the tail light? I’ll be nice however a warning would have helped. You’ll make money on the bike when you sell it.

I was, indeed, sensing something strange in that video of thee riding along with thy sister, posted about a week ago, because I was hearing a "monocylinder" motorcycle sound coming from that bike. I thought I was crazy because the idea that I have about motorcycles in USA and Canada is that they are all big engines with two or more cylinders. I am very familiarized with this kind of sound because monocylinders 125cc, 150cc are the standards here in Brazil. 250cc is considered something "above average". 400cc and above is kind of rare. People who ride Harley-Davidsons, Indians, Ducattis, BMWs, etc.. are the wealthy ones, here. But hey, I tell thee this: my other motorcycle is a brazilian brand, very similar to this one; 150cc. It's beautiful, it's comfortable to ride, a lot of good features, but!... although it's very weak, its gas mileage is insanely economic! Now, about the changes thy father made in the bike, I have to say that he is very good at it! Clever ideas; clever solutions! By things said and shown in this channel, I think he is definitely someone worthy of knowing. I can't imagine the amount of wisdom he would be able to share. Bless him!
@RedRiderCanadaBC
@RedRiderCanadaBC Жыл бұрын
Yea we do have a lot of big twin cylinder motorcycles here, I’m actually not sure if the North American motorcycle manufacturers make small single cylinder bikes 🤔 All the small cc bikes I’ve seen (including this one) are imported.
@aceofspades02
@aceofspades02 Жыл бұрын
@@RedRiderCanadaBC Yes. It's the "american dream" or "american way of life". I pray for this to remains, but if we eventually have an economic collapse, or gas prices skyrocketing, these small engine vehicles will be the solution. (this is why I'm not intending to sell my 150cc one). But I hope for the best! I love big engines; loud pipes, and I don't want this era to end.

I suppose it could be an issue. We never had a problem but that mostly because we know some people who know some people lol.

I'd love to find a 250cc v twin, but they're almost impossible to seek out, for a decent price.

This company makes them, but I think they are around 3 grand US.. don't quote me on that though. You should be able to good KIKKER 5150 and find their website.

Unfortunately the company does not make them anymore. They need to update their webpage, as it is factually wrong. Great video btw. @@RedRiderCanadaBC

Does anybody know how to get a wiring diagram or something of this bike? My neighbor is having me do the electrical but the entire harness is completely disassembled with zero instructions, and the website isn't helpful at all.

I don’t think we had to do a whole lot of wiring on this one and I can’t really seem to find anything either. But I did a quick google search and this video comes up: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXjRl3VmabxgjdE Not sure if it’s what you need or not but maybe you can pause it and have a look and see if it’s what you need as a diagram.

@@RedRiderCanadaBC Ah thanks for looking, I wonder if that even is for the kikker 5150. Anyways it seems like a lot of hobby chopper builds are kind of DIY wired, I'm sure I can cobble something up that works eventually!

Okay I've kind of figured it out if anyone else stumbles across this comment: The base components are GY6 scooter, so figuring out how to wire something you would google, "GY6 CDI wiring diagram." etc.
