Had the same Ice storm in Chicago now it's melting away. That 6-way makes perfect All nighters.

Six-way wedge works remarkably well, on your splitter, and that oak almost splits itself! Being old school, in cold weather particularly, I would start any piece of equipment (diesel or gas) and just let it tick over, on idle, for about five minutes. This allows the oil to warm up, to its best working viscosity, so that lubrication of all internal parts is achieved efficiently, while the motor is not under any working stress! That’s just my opinion, and of course, each individual works according to what he feels his best for his/her equipment! Len (Devon 🇬🇧) TTFN 👋

I did snow and ice management for 30 years, there is nothing worse than freezing rain. That splitter works great. The lift is a back saver.

That's some beautiful wood Scheib you had to worked your butt off getting it out of the woods, but when your home is toasty warm you will forget all about all the hard work it took getting it home. Thanks for the video.

Man that red oak really does split like a dream. I also like how the bark tends to fall/peel off easier than others.

That 6-way was perfect for that red oak. Most people I see using them on KZbin just destroy the wood. You better get in off that ice before too many wobble pops.
