Wonder why the customer wanted to be able to screw the 90deg fitting rather then just weld on a 90deg bung or something.

You my friend bring up a very good point. Would definitely be more consistent.I was just doing what I was told but maybe I should have suggested that lol.

Maybe he just wanted the bare minimum to accomplish the goal and the longer fitting doesn’t affect his plans. Love your work.

This was really useful to watch; but I hate seeing how people who, in specific, tig weld sleeveless get skin cancer after 12-15 years for not welding with sleeves.

Great video! Was just curious what you recommend for settings when welding those fittings?

Is there any worry about a failure by using a butt joint and grinding the head of the weld off vs using a lap joint and leaving the weld? I have a radiator that I need to do some similar modifications do and I don't want to have 10 different patches visible where I removed all the existing fittings.

On my plug or replacement piece I I beveled the edge and also made it a .065 "" smaller all the way around. That Gap will help Ensure the weld fully penetrates.

What grit did you use with the angle grinder when you smoothed out the welds.

40 grit

I have one those radiators and it’s small leak on weld on where corners meet, can I get it re welded ? And it’ll stop the leak?
@amcustomfab Жыл бұрын
In theory depending on the location of the crack and the skills of the person you bring it to 😎
