Modifying Diddly Squat Farm's Jimny

We were fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to modify Diddly Squat Farm's 2021 Suzuki Jimny. We don't usually work on customer cars but, as big fans of the "Clarkson's Farm" TV show, we were more than happy to help kit out their new Jimny with a selection of upgrades from our catalogue.
This video is not an in depth build study or how-to guide, merely a selection of video clips that we recorded over the few days that we were working on the Jimny. As such, some stages (such as installing the extended brake lines, bleeding the brakes etc.) have not been shown. We do not have a workshop within our warehouse, hence the mixture of working indoors and outdoors!

Please note: due to the extra large 235/75R15 tyre size, modifications were made to the front bumper and front inner wheel arch liners in order for the tyres to have sufficient clearance when turning. The wheel and tyre combination shown in the video will not fit without performing these additional modifications.

As i bought 235 85 r 16 bfg ko2 for my jimny xl (5door), wil be doing a 50mm lift kit and 25mm body lift block, i just hope that wil work, as the vehicle is about to get deliver next week

Can you share the trimming? I want to install 235s and want to know what to trim exactly for best results thanks.

At the bottom of the front bumper, inside the front wheel arches, we trimmed away 10-15mm from this bumper edge. We also removed the bottom plastic bracket that the inner arch liner clips onto. Then, we made a custom bracket (one on each side) that sits between the arch liner and front bumper, to secure the arch liner. This is then held in place using the original Suzuki pop clip, so that it gives an OEM finish. I hope this helps

you can fit 235/75R15 tyres on the OEM wheels and this should work just fine with a 40mm. At the worst, a small amount of trimming might be required, but not as much as was needed here as the EVO Corse wheels are much wider with a lower offset. I hope that helps!

Hello! There is a TOYO model "open country AT 2" which is 225/70/15. Do you think if will fit properly without lifting 2 inches?.

I would imagine so, because the sidewall is significantly smaller (70, as opposed to 75). Therefore, the overall diameter of the wheel + tyre will be reduced by roughly 37mm (the result being very similar to the OEM wheel + tyre size), which should minimise any clearance issues with the bottom of the front bumper. Great video! is the BF Goodrich a 215/75/15 measure ? or would you recomend 235 ? for a 15 inch rim.. thanks!!

The tyres on this build were 235/75R15. We'd usually recommend 215/75R15 90% of the time as they are lighter and aren't as likely to require trimming of the bottom of the front bumper in order to fit properly. However, there's no denying that 235/75R15 looks super tough!

@@katydavison1832 the overall diameter with 215/75R15s fitted would be much smaller, so with lifted suspension there shouldn't be a need for bumper trimming. With standard suspension, some trimming will most likely still be needed

What was the reason behind using 15x7.0J-25 spec wheel and not 15x7.0J+0. The zero offset would have avoided the situation of any bumper trimming. Thank you

Because the customer insisted on 15x7.0J-25 specification for the widest possible stance! This meant a lot more work in order to complete the installation, but it’s what the customer wanted

I've done this to more powerful vehicles like shogun mk2 2.8 litre. I love noticed quite a decrease in torque. With a rather small engine like the Jimny's 1.5 petrol, how did u go about it pls? Did you replace gears in the diffs or box? Thank you. Doesn't it look fab. Glad u changed the brake lines. Without doing it, it's a death trap

The BF Goodrich KO2 is still our favourite in terms of both style and performance, but we'd also recommend taking a look at the General Grabber AT3 and Falken Wildpeak AT3WA as these are a bit more road biased and a bit more affordable

In terms of comfort, it's great! The steering response isn't as sharp as our own Jimny with 215/70R16s (same suspension and BF Goodrich KO2s installed) but I believe this is mainly down to the larger sidewalls on the 235/75R15s which numbs the steering feel a bit.
