Leaving the bare chassis on a car lift (can be unpowered) will negate the degrading. Keep in mind you'll have to re add a lock to any cockpit modules after adding them back.

Not true. The car will decay slower on the lift but still decay. If you want to stop decay completely, put the car on the lift and remove all the modules from the chassis, the chassis by itself will not decay, and neither will the stored modules. However, if the cockpit has a lock, removing it from the chassis will destroy the lock. Alternatively, to minimize decay, you can leave just the cockpit on the chassis and take the other modules out.

Excellent quality video. I will add that if you remove all the modules from the chassis to leave it bare, it will not decay, and the stored parts neother, obviously. This has the added advantage of not getting your vehicle griefed while offline.

You CAN use the cockpit without an engine or armor, but why would you? Engine power stacks. Use 2+ engines if you're already taking one up with a large engine. Always use the engine cockpit unless you're going armored. Large chassis with engine cockpit and 3 large engines or 2 with a storage box = light speed cliffjumping transport. 3 engines and an armored cockpit = I call it, "The Penetrator". You can place the cockpit wherever you like for your driving style, but the far rear makes you the safest when using it as a ram

How do you get a chassis? I’m having so much trouble. They aren’t in the workbench’s

So I researched all of the blueprints for engine parts, but they don’t seem to appear in my crafting screen, even when standing at lvl 1 workbench. Am I missing a key step? I was told once you research the components, they should appear in “other”, but all I can see is the note.

the repair cost isn't that much actually. I use cars all the time and since no one wants them, the chassis' (?) that I need are always just laying around. plus they can get you around super quickly. A large chassis with armored cockpit and 3 engines isn't exactly slow, plus high quality parts are super cheap.

Can enemies open and withdraw the loot modules? Can the loot be locked or is it locked with the car key, too?

Good question and I should have detailed it further in the video. When you lock the vehicle all loot modules including the storage module, fuel tank, seating, and engine are not accessible by enemy players unless they have the key.

cars are a cool concept but they are pointless when it costs more for medium parts and armored chassis then it does for a mini copter you are safer in a mini then even the highest tier armored car. not to mention the cars suck on anything that isn't a road and a mini can go literally anywhere

That was Way before the war. It's a in-game legacy because of the Rust-islands lore. It's vihacles are of a mix of Russian/soviet and americans, and if the engines where used by the soviet army, it would natrually contain a letter on it, and it just so happened to be a Z
