What is the purpose and advantage of installing this 87mm ported throttle body on a stock truck? Any hp gain? Does it decrease mpg? Or do I need to do this in conjunction with other things like CAI, tune, exhaust, etc?

Where does it measure 87mm? My inside diameter says 82.6mm on my “87mm” TB??

It’s 82.5mm at the front and back, but the port is cut deeper as it gets closer to the blade. It is a complicated port design, but this design has shown the best combination of Both performance and driveability. Going too big can actually hurt your performance if you don’t have the supporting upgrades to make use of the true bore 84+mm units.

What part is different on the tb. I get it’s bored but if it’s still the factory TB blade and throat opening wouldn’t it still flow the same? I’m not familiar with ported TBs

Matt doesnt understand the Venturi effect. He thinks that by porting the stock throttle body without enlarging the factory opening, and adding the correct sized butterfly... he can make a buck. The venturi effect on his throttle body would be better if it was a conical or V shaped opening before the throttle plate. Ask some of the guys in the NHRAs Pro Stock Car class about their carbs.

With this t.b is there any learning process? Also will you have to tune the truck to get max output of the new t.b?

No throttle relearn necessary with this unit as it is a brand new Mopar core that we port. It is plug n play with no tuning necessary.

We offer ported throttle bodies for all the Hemi Ram trucks from 2003-2018. This particular unit in this video works on the 2013-2018 Hemi trucks.

Our throttle body does not throw any codes because we ratain the factory blade and electronics to maintain perfect street manners at idle and low rpm cruise.
