Super big thanks for the video. I have been looking for help with these dang things. Really appreciate your drawings, lets me see how it is supposed to go together. My problem is that the pick up tube wont go down far enough into the tank for the snap ring to engage its groove, it sits almost a quarter inch above the flange... its the existing tube not a new one. How much pressure needs to be applied to seat it? Have pushed about as hard as I feel safe too so far. Thanks again, seems like your the only one to have addressed these pop-locks, Moellers help was completely worthless. I would advise anyone to avoid the pop lock design if your getting a new tank.

@@aquadud2222 I spent weeks working on this to find a system to install and replace orings. Glad you found it helpful. I did not have to apply a lot of pressure to get the snap lock to the top of the housing. I would take off the current orings to see if they are binding. There is a minimal amount of oring compression for them to slide down 100%. The 3rd Oring in the housing looks ok?

Stick a coat hanger down the hole to check the depth and compare against the length of the pick up tube. You might be hitting bottom

@@stang1966gt It is the existing tube, not a new one. It fit before.

@@aquadud2222 My concern is the factory did not cut the pick up tube short enough

@@stang1966gt Thanks but I dont think you understand. This is the tube that came with the tank, for 4 years it has been fine, fitting started leaking in August. It is the same tube that was properly installed before.

I'm in the process of ordering a 111 gal tank but your video makes me rethinking about the order. It seems like a very complicate job to replace these pickups

I pulled the pick up, per my mechanic’s recommendation, but turned out there was no gas. I don’t see a need to remove it, unless you need to clean the screen. Yes, it was a pain to figure out a system to remove and install. Was happy when it clicked back in. Are you able to see the pick up tube from the side?

@@stang1966gt I'm replacing an aluminum tank and I'm considering a moeller poly tank. The idea to service a pickup in the future makes me wonder if this is a good idea.

They also sell a threaded connection. I would certainly go for this over the pop lock.
