Installed the same Moen Arbor unit Aug. 2016. It took a few days to get used to how each sensor actually works but now the whole family LOVES it. It's very convenient and clean. Each sensor is handy for different reasons: top sensor is great for rinsing out the sink with the pull down and filling pots whereas the front sensor is better for rinsing hands and filling a glass. Thanks for providing a refresher on how to disable either sensor. We highly recommend this unit and Moen provides great after-sale support when/if needed down the road.

Great video! We have the Moen MotionSense Arbor faucet and love it. The only problem is that the we kept having "gotcha" moments with the front sensor all the time. Our sleeves would get wet because the faucet would come on inadvertently when we weren't expecting it. Very frustrating! Thank you for showing how to shut off the front sensor while keeping the much more useful top sensor.

Thanks for this video! Couldn't remember exactly how to reset/disable the individual sensors, so this solved my dilemma. The bottom sensor was a problem getting used to. Invariably, I'd be dressed for work, and without thinking, put something in the sink. Which of course turned the sensor on and soaked the sleeves of my shirt.

I bought a Moen Brantford prior to seeing your video. I am fairly handy and these units are pretty simple to install. In fact, getting the old faucet out too more time and effort (not to mention a few choice words). The instructions provided were very easy to follow and understand despite the number of parts in the box. Read the instructions first with the parts in hand and it will all make sense. My install too about 45 minutes only because I had to reach behind a lot of drain line plumbing. One thing that was a bit perplexing to me was that the mounting bracket didn't fit flush to the bottom of my cast iron/porcelain sink due to 2 molded in strengthening brackets. The mounting bracket did fit, but it wasn't flush. Turned out to not be a big deal. I also bought the power adapter accessory so I don't have to deal with batteries. You will want a buddy to assist with the install (my wife helped) because someone has to keep the faucet pointing straight ahead while you are working from below to tighten things up. I like the quick connect hoses, but I wonder what I need to do to disassemble things should I ever replace the sink or cabinet and need to disconnect everything? Perhaps I'll just kick that can down the road.....

Installed one with my kitchen remodel about 4 years ago. I absolutely love this faucet. Hooked it to electric had an outlet installed under sink for the faucet and dishwasher. Could not live without it. Plus after 4 years It developed a leak called Moen they sent free of charge a new filter also a box for under the sink in case it was a solenoid where the cords all join. As the motto says " buy it for looks, buy it for life".

I had the same issue. The front sensor was triggered when I didn’t want it to and occasionally it would freeze for a minute blinking and no control was possible until the blinking stopped. I turned off the front sensor as directed in the video, even though the blue light never did come on. It seems to have disabled the front sensor anyway. I have a new home but the Moën booklet was not provided.

The review was well elaborated and the explanation was clear, however deactivating the front sensor according to his instructions did not work for me. I watched several KZbin videos and no one seem to be addressing this issue. I did some extra research and I figured out that Moen touch-less faucets with the simple black type of control unit, not like the one on this video with water mixing regulator, the deactivation of the sensors is totally different. To disable both sensors: Turn on water with handle. Hold hands directly over both sensors for ten seconds. The Ready sensor light will flash once after 5 seconds. Continue holding hands over both sensors until the Ready sensor light flashes twice. Both sensors are now deactivated. Turn handle off. To enable both sensors: Turn water on with handle. Hold hands directly over both sensors for ten seconds. The Ready sensor light will flash twice signaling the sensors have been enabled. Turn handle off. To disable Ready sensor only: Turn water on with handle. Hold hands directly over both sensors for five seconds. A light will flash once on Ready sensor, signaling that the Ready sensor is disabled. Turn off handle. To enable Ready sensor only: Turn water on with handle. Hold hands directly over both sensors for five seconds. A light will flash once on Ready sensor, signaling that the Ready sensor is enabled. Turn off handle. Hope that works for you.

I have one with just the sensor on top. We do a lot of cooking at home and it is extremely convenient to run something over the sensor and not splatter it with salmonella. That stated, the battery situation is untenable. And buying 6 d batteries every couple of months is expensive and turns the convenience of hands-free into unnecessarily expensive. Still an excellent idea, just needs another iteration.

This is cool. Way better than the $120 one at homedepot where you have to wave your hand in front of sensor pretty close to turn on and then again to turn off. This moen is way better.

Hi Buddy. I didn't notice any decreased flow when using the manual operation of the faucet...but that doesn't mean you're not right. Regarding the battery option, it would have been nice if the AC plug would have been included. But so far after seven months of daily use, the original batteries are still working fine. Thanks for the comments.

We are remodeling our kitchen and just purchased this faucet along with a large D-shaped sink. The sink is so deep (goes back so far in the cabinet we installed) that we likely must install our faucet mounted slightly off to the side of the sink. Do you think this faucet can be used as a side mounted faucet with a D- shaped sink or should we return it and get something else?
@OpenBookBuild
@OpenBookBuild 9 жыл бұрын
Joan Johnson I think that is totally possible. It's really a matter of personal opinion. The only negative I've heard about this faucet is that the arc is somewhat shallow/tight...so with a sink with a large area, the stream from the faucet may not come out far enough for some folks.

Nice video. Thank you. I have a few questions... What is the handle needed for if it has sensors? Is it used to turn water on and off manually? If so is there a way to a avoid using the handle to turn water on? Reason I want that deactivated is because my father is 85 and turns on the water with the lever and walks away and forgets to turn it off. So I am looking at this faucet for him. Also is the handle also used to control the temperature of the water? Thanks to anyone that answers these questions.

I bought a home with one of these installed and I cant stand it. If I put a steaming bowl of pasta in the sink to drain, the steam turns on the water. If I want to use the filtered water tap, I have to move the main faucet to keep it from coming on. It's more trouble than it's worth. I mean really, how hard is it to flip the handle to turn on the water?

We haven't had any leaks. Is your leak coming from between the handle and the hose? If so, this is somewhat common on pullout faucets. The Moen seems to be better than most as it has a swivel at that connection to prevent kinking the hose.

The appearance of the "blue" light is actually just sunlight coming through a window in a nearby room in front of the counter. The only part of the water that appears to have color is just under the faucet where the sunlight hits it but is blocked by the counter below the first inch or two of water.

I've had this faucet a couple of years and it's been great until recently. A few times it won't shut off after the MotionSense turns it on. Sometimes I can't it to turn off, by manually turning the faucet on, then shutting it off, but a few times I had to resort to turning off the water valves under the sink to stop the water flow. After turning those back on, it seemed to work. I have the faucet plugged into an outlet under the sink, so it isn't the batteries. I thought maybe the front sensor gets confused if used too much in a short period of time, and since I find it annoying anyway, I finally decided to find out how to disable it. Your instruction was seemingly so simple, I was kicking myself. However, I tried it and it didn't work. The water still comes on automatically with the front sensor. Any suggestions??

I absolutely hate this faucet!!!! I moved into a house where this was installed except it has a black box and it’s crazy. the handle doesn’t do anything at all, The water temperature is always changing and I have to reset the box every time because after a while the sensors just don’t work even though i replaced the batteries with a new set. I honestly hate this and would never recommend this to anyone. I feel like so much water is being wasted and I’ve burned my hand because randomly it turns from cold to burning hot. Called moen for help and they were useless, directed me to their website to check the Manuel directions online😡 I’m going to replace this with a manual standard faucet cuz this is just The worst.

Hated mine. Constantly fighting with it. Go to wash your hands and decide the water is too hot, move your hands and it shuts off. Same if you move the faucet from one side of the sink to the other. Also if the batteries go dead the faucet wont work. Yeah, your sink is now battery powered. You have to steal the batteries out of your wife's vibrator to power the sink faucet.

Do not buy if you in Canada. Warranty are just 1 year and problem started after one year, after 2 years it started opening valve by itself. $700 faucet should last at least 10 years. Power supply should be provided and not batteries option which work only 1 month. I just checked how much is it (power adapter) and it's $150 !!!! Seriously? My worst experience with faucet.
