One bit of advice I can give everyone regarding the Liquidator, and the problems it gives, is this. When I first got the liquidator, the rubber it came with, the moreman rubber (Which is designed specifically for the Liquidator) was perfect, worked well straight from the pack and had no lines and the detailing was minimal. However, I found the moreman rubber wore out extremely quickly, I barely got to the end of the week before the corners where fraying and the detailing became more and more as it had worn at the corners. So I replaced them with Razr reds, obviously having to cut the rubber myself. This is when the problems started. Like people have pointed out it begun leaving lines, rubber was skipping etc. I figured that this was down to the fact I hadn't cut the rubber properly. The thing to remember is the Moreman rubber it arrives with is factory designed to be completely dead on to the millimeter so it matches the edge of the dog eaaring clips. For the liquidator to work properly it needs to be as precise as a human hair on the clips, or you will get rubber skips and "turn marks" as people have alluded too. So this gave me an idea, I ordered a brand new liquidator and instead of using it, I took the fresh rubber that it arrived with and used it as a TEMPLATE for cutting future rubbers. I always use razr reds, as they last the longest, you can line up the razr red rubber so it matches the moreman rubber perfectly and cut it to a fine point. Just stash your moreman rubber and only ever use it as a template for cutting future rubbers. Since doing this the Liquidator has caused me no problems what so ever as the rubber is a perfect match. I only ever use Liquidators now when I am tradding, I am so confident in the lack of detailing that I barely even bring a scrim out with me anymore. Just thought I would pass this info on as a lot of people knock the Liquidator, but you just need to give it a chance. Cheers for the review Chris.

The problem with me using Red Razr rubber is that my Liquidator is 14" and I can only find the longest size of it in 35". So that means I`ll get two blades out of it but then have quite a bit of wastage. Buying single pieces in 14" just works out too expensively.

You can buy a pack of 15 from various sites it saves you a lot.

I do the same thing with Ettore rubbers. Moerman products are fantastically innovative, it's a damn shame that the company is run by grey suited zombies who care more about pushing dollar store level products for the most profit possible.

Good stuff Wagga like you i use a wagtail for most of my work (thanks to you and Mr Hatt recommending them) and the liquidator is great with the slimline handle i also use a 12" in a liquidator handle and that isn't as comfortable to use but will always give a 100% perfect result

I bought a liquidator and I agree it does work well on those type of Windows. I did have bother with it though on older Windows where the rubber seal is tapered out from the plastic (as opposed to cut flush). Also you have to get used to finishing on the side on Windows with a sill, as you can't maintain the angle needed when finishing on the bottom as the handle will hit the sill. I agree about razr red rubbers.
@MyWagga9 жыл бұрын
+Richard Taylor I agree with all you say on this although I have since got a bad batch of Razr rubber. I had to use my standby rubber from Wagtail and for once this was better somehow.

I am using Moerman Exelerator handle and would like to use it on a pole for awkward to get to windows, I use this with a Fliq but am having problems attaching anything to the handle or the pole for detailing. Have you made a video where you attach something to the Moerman for detailing when doing pole work? I have seen the wagtail version.

2 of my friends and myself gave up on it im afraid ,due to rubber skipping , turn marks , and rubbers wearing out after a couple of days. Having said that I've never tried the red rubbers that you mentioned.

If you use the Razer Red or the Black Diamond medium cut precisely with the clip tips you'll find the issue negated. The Razer Red has amazing longevity even with the extra pressure that any dog eared channels put on the ends.

Any thoughts on the Excelerator? I like it will use it more and be friends with it. BUT i don't like that a tool meant for pole work forces you to "klick and lock" otherwise it just spins around... Not like the wagtail where you can use any pole just "on and off" fast... The best part is the pad, very well made, wagtails comes off after 1-2months of use. During the wintertime the windows is to dirty for using the pad now anyway... So i guess i use it inside or wait for spring time. But the "klick and lock" thing + that you cannot use this channel on every window, coz of some frames, i have some wooden half moon frames on some storfronts that not like the Excelerator,( tends to "jump") so i find myself go back and use the wagtail more again.

I have not used the Excelerator so I can't comment on it. I use Wagtail all the time apart from wfp. I have modified the pads so they don't come off. Most of my work is 28 days so it's nearly always still clean. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZKtYp2hq7eah6s

Chris, I am a small time window cleaner, the government has given me 3000 (canada) for tools towards my company. I wanted to know if you could tell me what are the best squeegees, channels, rubbers, poles (not water fed) and clothes, buckets, belts! I know that is a lot to ask....but I want to use this money (which is a lot) to get the best stuff and stock up!! Hopefully you can help out a young motivated window cleaner from Canada. Thanks again!

+Trevor Hi Trevor, I would stick with Unger equipment as it's always readily available, good quality and they always have a comprehensive stock. They do just about anything and it all works well. You can allways refine your equipment once you have got into the job better and start to look at Wagtail or carbon fibre poles etc.
@brickbybrick65168 жыл бұрын
I used it for the first time today. I bought the 14in and the 18in. Im unconvinced as of yet. It seemed to have poor coverage, I had to push quite hard. Maybe it was the rubber it came with. Ill put the red one in as you suggest. What I want to know is, how loose is the head supposed to be? on both of mine I tightened it up as tight as I thought it would go, but the head still has play in it.

Your using Tescos own brand of liquid now Chris? I'm using Aldi's Magnum on your recommendation so would you say Tescos Lemon is better than that?
@MyWagga9 жыл бұрын
+deltafit I shop in Aldi all the time but since I discovered Tesco's washing up liquid by chance because I had run out of the Magnum, I was really surprised at the results. There's never going to be much in it but I think it works really well with Razr rubber from Window cleaning warehouse.

For the best zero detailing, then its the Liquidator. If like me you like the Wagtail Flipper/Slimline, then it has to be Wagtail.

Get your liquidator channel. Run a tape over it. They are all 5mm shorter than the size they claim to be. the 14" is only 13.5" the 10" is only 9.5 . You have to cut the rubber longer than what you think. 5mm to short and it does not work as. An also you can get a heat gun and gently bend the end caps back a little. They dont need to be on as extreme an angle towards the glass that they are. On deep frames the height of the end caps gives troubles when you trying to close out also. They are on the right track but they need to work on their design. I think Chris's dog earing works better.

I am getting lots of arched lines leaving residue only visible in direct sunlight why is this. I am using plenty of soap as mentioned by others.
@MyWagga7 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not I often get these and get very exsasperated with it at times. I often find that it is because the rubber is not right. I often try a different rubber and it sorts it. Somtimes the weather plays a part. Somtimes its because you are swinging the blade in an arch too quickly and this will cause the soap to bleed off the end of the rubber. It could be because the rubber is cut too long and extends too far out from the end of the channel. Some of the best rubber that seems to avoid this problem is Wagtail believe it or not.
@Funk111477 жыл бұрын
I am using the moerman pre cut rubbers so i would of thought that would of b een perfect for the job. Is the liquidator your no1 for using trad on the lower windows? if not what is as I want perfect windows and the liquidator is great just them lines are not giving me much confidence on peoples homes. Can you recommend a more perfect squeegee setup tried and trusted cheers chris appreciated!
