When Arsenal started struggling moving into new stadium, I used to be so angry at Wenger for only being satisfied and trying for top 4 and selling our top players.But maturing now, getting old, understanding the situation behind, I have full respect for this guy. Owners would have never put money in the club. Without qualifying for top 4 , Arsenal would have struggled financially and who knows where Arsenal would be . May be we might would have become a mid table team which unfortunately we did became in his later years. So thanks to him , for keeping beautiful football alive on limited budget for as long as he can.

Never a mid table team under Wenger! The man kept us relevant, even in the lean years, on no budget.
@killopillo-c9g2 күн бұрын
When did Arsenal become mid table? Arsene made Arsenal sustainable, it was Gazidis who was a bore and sucked life out of Arsenal. Arsene went on a budget....so eventually his successors can spend eg Arteta.

Mid table under Wenger? He came 2nd to Leicester then 3 rd the next year and 4th the next while everyone is calling for him to get sacked then in his last season he came 5th......

You’ve not seen much then. Wenger is the single most overrated manager to ever grace the sport, failed to win a major honour in 22 of the 33 seasons in management, never retained a League title, never won a european trophy. 9 year trophy drought, 14 year league title drought, lost 3 european finals including one to a 9th place Werder Bremen side, doesn’t make Top10 most successful managers in any of the 4 decades he coached in. Tactically limited & One dimensional. Glorified for modernising diets in England which at the time was tactically and culturally lightyears behind italy, germany, spain, holland Etc, a backwards a league of 20 442 teams.

Fergie was a fraud. Never on same class as Arsene. Fergie had strop with the press, media, opposition, referees, pgmol.....even his own players. His own biography and that of his players tell you he had burst of anger and strop. The manager himself needed anger management problems! Furthermore he overachieved with average ONLY cos he had refs in his sweaty scotch stale pockets. Always invite them in his office before and after games for wine and champagne and sometimes a few showers if things got fruity. Should be be banned by pgmol such a practice but apparently mile riley and howard webb used to scrub and lather and foam up fergies squeeky bum in the showers.
