Was driving home from work and heard this song on the radio 1998. I parked my car in my yard because in wasn't over and just sat listening. It was such an incredible, intense experience that I have total recall on that moment in time. I will always see the car dash the yard around me. A place where I grew up that is crystallized by the song's movements and my joy and wonder of the notes and crescendos. I know when I closed my eyes. I can feel my breath. I can go there any and every time I hear this song. One of the greatest musical and spiritual experiences of my life. Thank you Mogwai.

I heard this song in London in their gig at the garage, London in April 1997. Few moments in my life retain that emotional force so many years later. I had made the trip from Scotland to see them live and meet my friends from France who couldn't make it in time. They told me afterwards that I had changed, and I believe I did. Thank you for that. Love from Paris.

First time I'm ever hearing this song is today. What a time to hear something like this. The emotional rollarcoaster I've been in the past couple of days, and then stumbling upon this is an indescribable feeling. I can't put into words what has been going on with me, but this song defines it all perfectly. This is hitting my soul right now and I truly believe that I was meant to discover this at exactly when I did 10 minutes ago.

Mogwai is known for these amazing songs of both beauty and brutality. Not just this one but songs like “I love you, I’m going to blow up your school,” “ You’re Lionel Ritchie,” “We’re no here,” etc. I discovered this band around 94-95, and it took me quite some time to warm to them, but when I finally did, I had no regrets. Boy, they put on an amazing live show also.

Perfect take off song for a plane. Trust me. Here's what ya do. Get yourself a nice window seat, wait for the plane to start taxiing to take off position. Whack on your sweet sweet Mogwai tunes. Helicon 1 is perfect, but other Mogwai songs may be used, they just need the awesome Mogwai drop. Kids Will be Skeletons and Ether also good choices. Anyway you've whacked on your Mogwai, this is all about timing the song starts building as you're taxiing. Then the plane lines itself up, lovely, then BAM the engines fire up to full speed ahead. You zoom down the runway and take off. Now you want your classic Mogwai drop, either as the speed engulfs the full plane and it starts zooming down that runway, or as it lifts off from the grounds and zooms into the sky. Get the timings right and you'll have a nice flight. ( Please note I do not endorse causing climate change in order to have the brilliant Mogwai flight experience, I just endorse Mogwai if you are already in said situation).

I thought electronics had to be turned off during take off and landing? I've never been on a plane so I don't know. Just what I see on TV

Chi ti vuole bene davvero rimane.

Such a great way Craig Murray found to celebrate their second decennia. Cutting so many small pieces and putting them together is quite simbolic when put next to such a deep layers work as that of Mogwai. Helicon 1 is very well put in image. Beautiful.

So, I generally think the whole "mandela effect" is nonsense, dumb and bad. But I have it rather heavily for every version of this song I can find. They all clock in at... just about three hundred and sixty glorious minutes of every reason to live, the beauty, the sadness, the heartbreak, the triumph, an absolute fsck you to the indifference of the world and universe which will consume us whole without a moments pause... but I _swear_ back in the days of napster I had a version which clocked in roughly at nine hundred seconds. But my piracy days are behind me (mostly), I stick to these common sholes of mercantilism and I get three hundred and sixty. Though I'm an old man, and my memory fails, so I'll hold these three hundred and sixty close, and be happy the world hasn't taken them from me yet.
@ThomasBaxter2 жыл бұрын
Also, proactively, no: I am not an idiot. I am aware that there are _many_ other versions readily available. I was trying to be fancy. Y'know... With the pants.
