Just here for anyone watching this guide: as of right now the range on the RPG-7V2 is incorrect. If you wanna use the 2,7 guide thingy to manual determinate the range, it'll always show a higher value than the actual range. I know that cause I've been testing this out for like an hour comparing to the range indicated by the sight and the sign in the range, it's always around 100-150 meters higher. I of course included the turret, and did multiple tests at 300m, 400m and 500m.

9:55 - 10:00 your claim about round dealing more damage is incorrect. All NON KINETIC rounds - HEAT & Tandem - will do full damage if they can penetrate armour.
@MoiDawg4 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for the reply! I'm hearting this for visibility so people get the right info. I relistened to myself and I do say that, despite trying to make the point that LAT does less damage than HAT. Penetration = damage, but if you penetrate with a LAT you're still only doing LAT damage, which isn't that helpful against a tank.
@Uf0nius4 жыл бұрын
@@MoiDawg no problem my man. It gets more complicated when you start involving layer armor, but that's not the point of the video. However, as a brief example for anyone reading this, uparmored warrior's armor plates will reduce incoming damage to a certain degree even if full penetration occurs (armor plate + hull penetration).

Also another important fact about the LAW, the left and right post can also be used to lead targets moving at 15mph (if I remember correctly, Its forsure within the 10-30mph range). In real life, this is done by putting the center post against whichever respective side of the rear sight. In Squad, well Im sure you just put the respective side post in front of your target, since you cant actually adjust sight positioning horizontally.

damn i legit never knew the RPG-7V2 had a tandem scope that is actually so helpful thanks dude
@CrizzyEyes3 жыл бұрын
Fun fact: HEAT rounds are not actually "explosive" in the sense that they deal damage by exploding, but they instead force the explosive energy through a metal cone inside the warhead, which is usually made of a low melting point metal like copper. This metal actually melts and is forced (by the explosive force interacting with the cone shape) into a molten jet, which then penetrates the armor and shoots inside the vehicle. That's why they're called "shaped charges" and don't do any splash damage. Tandem charges, on the other hand, are called as such because they literally explode twice.

I usually don't use the binocs unless I'm scouting for vehicles or the vehicle is standing still, I'll usually just have my rocket out and look at the map and use the ranging on there. Although there is a lot of merit when using the binocs on a nonmoving target, being able to range off the map and use your surroundings is a lot faster for moving targets (but does leave a lot of room for error). I will usually quickly open my map, and literally use my thumb or fingers as measurement tools, and this will be effective around 100 to 200 meters. Anything greater than that, and the margin of error is a little too much. But faster than taking out your binocs, ranging, then having to go through the whole animation to shoot the rocket. You can skip the first two steps and just have your rocket out, and this leads to faster ranging. When targets are moving, this can be used to great effect. For those who want a quick tutorial on ranging from the map, I first suggest taking a few seconds to see what scaling and distance the map uses at the beginning of the game, which can be found in the bottom right corner of the map. The usual scaling is 300m for big squares and 100m for little squares respectively. Take a finger, thumb, fingernail, what have you, and find a good measuring tool for the scaling. Then, from there, it is just lining up your position with the target while standing still. When zooming in and out of the map, scaling will change. To compensate for this, use two fingers as measurement tools and line them up with the bottom right corner scaling key. Regardless, good video, and greatly needed for the community as a whole.
@hazardous4584 жыл бұрын
Lil Shrimp01 I use this method too but the issue is when the target is not aligned with the squares meaning that method can be pretty inaccurate at longer ranges.
@LilShrimp014 жыл бұрын
@@hazardous458 Yea, hence the 100m to 200m effective range. Anything beyond that sucks, but usually, the 100m to 200m shots are the ones I go for anyways. If I have something like the US HAT, I may go for the long shots because it actually has the optic for that. If I go for anything past 200m, it better be stopped or hovering. High chance of missing if it's moving, and you don't want to waste the shot then.

The small vehicle models on the range that indicate the armor according to the color is nice and all, but I just find it hard to believe, that the btr82 (30mm) has a stronger back armor then a tank even though that is exactly what the models show. Also I couldn‘t find any infos on the hp values of different vehicles or the armor penetration values. A video on that would be super helpful
