Story time: I'm a huge movie guy as well as a huge car guy. My dad is a race car mechanic, so that's where all that love comes from and my natural passion is film and I graduated as a film major who now does background roles as well as some commercials. I own over 400 movies in my collection and over 100 replica car models on my shelf. That all being said, until 3 days ago I have never seen a single Fast movie and I wore that shit with a badge of honor because of its irony and I'm the kind of guy to binge watch movies just for the sake of adding it to the list of movies ive seen. There's almost no movie franchise I haven't watched all the way through. The reason why I decided to painfully indulge myself into the Fast franchise is because-no joke you can even Google this-I was offered to be a part of a paid experiment where a group of people binge every Fast movie including Fast X and take thorough and precise notes on how accurate each car crash is. Why or for what reasons this experiment was being conducted I have no idea, but I swear to god this was real and I was paid a whopping $1100 for my services

I do think one of the biggest issues with the fast saga is that yes at one point it was street racers doing other illegal activities but coming together to kind of bring down a different bad guy or get revenge for that one guy who cheated and got this guy killed or what ever where as now it's marketing itself too seriously if they went in with the idea of these are now kind of serious spoofs like clearly these ppl would never end up in this situation or rather wouldn't make it out of it but since it's a satirical take on spy movies and the group of friends go on an adventure archetype and find the true meaning of family like just go balls to the walls but market it as such
