This whole timeline confuses me. Wasn't Loki there for most of the events of the Norse pantheon?? Like the gift competition with Sindri and Broke that led to the creation of Thor's hammer? How then is it implied that this is the start of Loki's story?

@@Proud11Peacock there's a video essay on youtube that answers that question pretty well. basically in order to account for atreus being loki, all stories mentioning loki had details changed in order to account for his absence. you can see it pretty well with the giant lore cabinets in gow 2018.

It would be hard for them to tell their story if they went 1:1 with the mythology. They just took what they thought were the best parts of it and added their own twists. Much like they did in the Greek Era of GoW.

I truly love this series. More then any other it is truly my most cherised franchise. I have the merch, played a beat every game at least 10 times each Ragnarok was throughly disappointing. From Freya switching sides way to quick, I still after 3 times beating the game don't understand who or what angrboda is. An absolutely piss poor final boss fight. For me I'd go GoW 3 GoW 2018 GoW 2 GoW ghost of Sparta GoW Ragnarok GoW Ascension GoW GoW chains of Olympus
