Fun fact actually: striped hyenas aren't cats or dogs, they belong to the hyaenidae family which is in the feliformia suborder. I do wish Mojang would have given them a new mod with a unique model and such that has the hyena's key features such as a long neck and mane.

It is, the pine variet contains more mega spruce trees with a cone at the top where as the spruce contains a more christmas tree like mega spruce trees. Basically the dominant variant determines the biome.

It would be cool if tamed versions of certain breeds could help you find rare structures like trail ruins, jungle temples, etc. Like they run there and bark if one is near.

Old Growth Taiga itself has two variants: Pine and Spruce, which determines the shape of the trees that grow there. Pine have leaves clustered at the top, while Spruce has leaves in the top and middle. (courtesy of IGN)

Yes the bare minimum!! For real though, I’m glad they’re finally adding simpler things to pad the update a bit. Nothing annoying or taken away from actual development either, just simple biome specific thing with a simple texture change, that really should’ve been added LONG AGO! Personally I think biomes should be just that, have a few structures and biome specific things that don’t effect gameplay unless you want it unlike the *cough* *COUGH* VILLAGER CHANGES *COUGH* *cough.*

Yea. I really like the cosmetic biome specific mob and structures variants. They allow for each minecraft play through to feal personnel without making you miss out on the main content of the game because you had spawned the wrong biome. For each player they will have a different first village or fist tamed dog experience that is functionality the same put visually different.

They should add the mini boss update. Have structures around the world that have bosses/mini bosses that you can find. Have the bosses drop special late stage items and a key to access all the loot. The mincraft World is really limited in boss battles, in my opinion. They should make a variation boss for each biome that randomly spawn. Use treasure maps to find specific bosses

With the free animal addon in their store which gives us many different colors of dogs from a little smaller than a regular wolf, pomeranian style, to one that is almost double the size which are malamutes and huskies dogs... Plus now adding the different colored wolf dogs, that's going to make for a LOT of different dogs.

If you're still confused about the 2 old growth taiga biomes, Pine Taigas will have giant spruce trees, with their leaves only near the top of the tree and forming somewhat of a triangle. Whereas the giant trees in Spruce taigas are covered in more leaves

This is a great addition to the 1.21 update, but I think the pale wolf should spawn in the birch forest instead of taiga, and another variant should be added for the taiga, and another for the old growth birch forest.

3:46 lol Wooded Badlands is the one with trees and coarse dirt which only generates at higher elevations (and would be pretty easy to tell what it is), and since Wolves can't spawn on sand; they can't spawn in that place.

I dont know about that. Hyper fixation on the wolves, a tiny part of the overall game- arguably not used by the majority of players- being so heavily focused on seems like the work of devs who have run out of ideas. I do hope Minecraft continues to be successful but this update has yet to show me anything to get excited about. Initially I thought the trial chambers were cool but having experienced one I didn’t feel compelled to do it again.

I wonder if all the wolfs have real world counter parts. It is obvious that the rusty wolf is modeled after an Ethiopian wolf, both in appearance and in its unusual biome choice. The spotted wolf is straight up an African wild dog, even including how massive some packs of those canines get. As mentioned in the video the stripped wolf is a stripped hyena. So... What are each of the others?

This farm should have 6 tridents killer and a big sorting system. I have every big farm in my world but still a small 8 portal farm. Which give less xp. Pls share work on this project.
