When i got a hookah for home, i did not like using foil, i always used my oduman ignis, but now i always use with 3 coals, foil with a metal piece ( i dont know what its called) so there is a little air flow between the coals and tobacco. Imo its better than a hmd

I smoke in my balcony. I've been using the lotus alot for some reason sometimes it's a really nice cloud output and when cleaning I can see alot of the tobbacco smoked. Other times I'll have a 45 min session and theres no good smoke output so I give up. Then when I go to empty the bowl none of the tobbacco has even smoked/burned. I'm using 2 coconara coconut cubes I dont k ow what's going on. I tried to buy a steel coal holder with holes already pierced in the metal but the smoke tasted all metal so I threw it away. I might go back to foil but not sure. I'm going to try an over packed bowl with the lotus and see how it goes. I think you should replace the lotus every 3-4 weeks if you want a good smoke. That's probably why my smoke isnt coming through because I'm on my second lotus and have been smoking hookah everyday for 2 months now. Also why is it that the al fakher always burns properly black when I empty my bowl but the starbuz doesnt?????

First off, please do not throw away your lotuses! They are pretty sturdy, lol. You just need to clean them once in a while. As far as AF vs Starbuzz, they are 2 different tobaccos with different level of heat resistance. Starbuzz would be a little more heat resistant and light. So it burns at a slower rate. That is the reason I can think of as of right now. Hope I helped here. Thank you!

@@aliasbadshah you _probably_ didn't mix it well enough, so the top layer is 'loose' while the bottom layer is packed. Maybe try like MOJO did, after approximating how much you need, you pour it out and mix it again before putting it back in. Just a thought.

we use kaloud lotus for fruits bowls, but if you don't want to clean up the heat management after using it on fruit bowl (because tobacco will stick to it), using foil is the good way as well

Depends on thickness of the foil. But I prefer to fold it do it makes 4 layers! That's the optimal solution that I found🙂🙂

@@maninblack4072 Regular kitchen foil is good! Just fold it into 4 layers. That is what I am used to and find it easiest to maintain heat. The thinner the foil the easier for heat to travel to tobacco. But we want to avoid rapid burn of tobacco. This is why I suggest 4 layers:)

Well, since they don't answer: No. The thing is, if it's closed it's more heat than open. And taking the lid of makes it even cooler. It's called a "heat management device". If it's scratchy nd hot smoke, you need to reduce heat. First you gradually open it up more. Open the lid, if it's still too hot, take the lid off, if it's still too hot, take a coal out, if it's still too hot, take two coals out etc. If you don't get any smoke or the pipe went out entirely, put some coals back, if it's still not going properly put the other coal back etc etc You get the idea.

i make a bowl like the 3rd you would do "expert level" but i use foil and my kaloud at the same time. because if i use only kaloud or only foil flavors sticks to it at the bottom... what is your opinion about that?

That is okay to use both at the same time. But it kills the whole point of Lotus though:) cleaning Lotus is really easy once it is cold!

when i use a lotus the tobacco sticks to it at the bottom and makes it dirty and is hard to clean off, what do you do? or is that something inevitable?

We leave the space between tobacco and lotus in most of the cases. When you use overpack method and tobacco sticks to the lotus we usually scrape the tobacco off if it is not that bad. If the situation is really bad you might want to use Lemon and soda to break the tobacco and then rub it with the sponge to get that tobacco off the lotus. Hope this helps! So I just bought a Mr. Eds Love hookah with a lotus - after 3 attempts, I just can't get any amount of smoke that resembles my 10+ year old hookah. I've tried different levels of water, different tobacco and even different coals (Had some of the cheap ones laying around). Here's my process, please correct me: 1) Fill the bowl, slightly below the top edge, or a bit more to overpack 2) 3 coal in the lotus, preheated with a stove 3) Chill for 5 mins 4) A few aggressive draws to let the heat flow through 5) Enjoy My water amount of about 1 inch above the... bottom of the cylinder that goes into the water. Don't know the English word for it. The head is silicone with a glass bowl, I'm about to try some old ceramic heads I have lying around. I've even tried googling assembly, in case i somehow did it wrong - but it's supposedly all good

because you are doing like level 2 and level 3 in the vdo. you need to leave a small gap (I leave around 0.5cm) between tobacco & Kaloud or foil. So if the tobbaco doesn't touch the kaloud or foil, it won't burn.

kaloud only comes with 1 size, Khalil bowl is small, so kaloud will be able to sit on top of khalil bowl but just a bit wider.

Yes for sure. Kaloud has better air flow than foil too. You can control the heat as well, unlike foil.

Can I ask you why do you separate them like that? If you put less tobacco it does not necessary mean that you are a beginner. It's all about preference and economy of tobacco. Also the top layer of the "expert" one will burn and the flavour will ruin .. If i give you Tangiers Cane Mint yellow line would you dense it like "expert"? I don't think so :) I'd say to beginners to start with lighter flavours like O's, Azure gold line or maybe Eternal smoke. The density of the pack is all about the way the shisha tastes, it will not make the shisha stronger and hard to smoke.
