Why Vegeta Blue is FINALLY GREAT in Dragonball FighterZ

I have had a lot of ya'll say that you still agree with the idea from the first video that the Final Flash Asset Flip is way worse than Goku Blue's Kaioken. My point was really more that when I initially compared these two moves, calling one out specifically for reusing animations when the other one also does this (albeit WAY MORE creatively) is pretty hypocritical. I still also think that the Kaioken looks cooler and there was more work put into it, and it is in fact, a GREAT example of asset flipping in a really good way! But these two moves nonetheless belong the same category, despite being guilty of the same thing to varying degrees. Hope that clears up my opinion on the subject.

That's the thing, Bluku's lvl3 is a clever reuse of assets. Most people won't even notice unless it gets pointed out to them. Blue Vegeta on the other hand is just the exact same attack. They don't even try to hide it. It would have been cool had they reused some assets and made his self destruct move from the Buu saga his lvl3. Would have been easy too. Take the charging animation, blocking animation, sparking animation, add some camera work and just recycle the destructive finish screen and boom, it's done. New lvl3

yeah, Vegeta's lv3 is still a worse asset flip imo since it only uses one animation, which is the same as the lv3 as ssj Vegeta, so Goku's is still a much better asset flip than vegeta's, also unlike Goku, he doesn't even change forms, which is fair since vegeta can't use kaioken, but the point still stands.

I think this makes Vegeta Blue's level 3 look worse because of how good they utilized reused assets for Goku Blue. While Goku simply takes smaller animations to make something that's different (especially with the great camera work), Vegeta literally uses the exact same final flash animation and doesn't even hide it.

The last point about Vegeta's LVL 3 super still applies. Sure, Goku's super reuses 6 different animations, but at least they are put together to make something else. It's like the LVL 3 they gave to Ginyu in a sense. Vegeta's is still just Final Flash.

Tbf, at the time the game released, the Final Flash was literally his strongest move. He didn't really have any attacks or techniques he likes to use exclusively with/in Blue, like how Goku stacks Kaioken with it, except maybe "Gamma Burst Flash" and even that's a stretch since it's literally just a Final Flash that doesn't need to be charged up. If anything his move set seems to be based almost entirely on when he fought Goku Black, kinda like how Goku's is based on when he fought Golden Frieza in RoF and Hit in the U6 Tournament. Guess that goes to show that Vegeta never really gets time to shine and show off new techniques outside of maybe the Manga. Even when he does he always ends up fumbling the bag somehow. It's been almost 3 decades, let my man get a W from a main villain.

I've always been a fan of Vegeta Blue, even back when he was an underpowered mess. Maybe I just didn't feel too affected by his downsides because I wasn't playing at a high enough level back then to notice, but as for me personally I've always been able to at least have fun with the character, and I always thought his moves (especially his level 5 extension) just look and feel so good. I was very happy to see him getting a buff, because I felt like he was one of the characters who could definitely benefit from one, and the buffs they gave him were exactly the kinda things I wanted. He is now a part of my main roster, and I couldn't be happier about it. He is just so much fun to play

The funny thing is? I actually really like Vegeta Blue's level 3 for a reason not many people give it credit for- how fast it is. Super Vegeta's Final Flash has a big, long windup of him charging the thing and looking really pissed off, incredibly fitting, given what scene it's taken from and all, but the fact that Vegeta Blue can use an equally powerful attack with basically no charge up whatsoever makes him look much more powerful in comparison, the same reason why I like the fact BBA is a regular fireball and not a super anymore- it makes the power gap between SSJ and Blue look big without sacrificing game balance. I wish they did that sort of thing for Goku Blue, like gave him a Super Kameha as a fireball- slower, like BBA, but bigger. I guess it wouldn't really work with his kit though.

The mistakes I can see are 2.5 on the original video: The kicks (Tiny gap who creates 50/50 scenarios), the ki blasts (slightly below average on speed) and somewhat of the grab (the grab was slow and therefore reactable, but not bad due to missing on crouching opponents).

as a Vegeta blue player, i love both your video because both were true. I dont listen video on youtube and thinking everything is straight facts but its fun that you corrected it in a fun and comical way. Yeah also im into that ;) I made a team surrounding goku spirit bomb because i got a deep love for it. I found out dragonball around that time goku battled frieza when i rented a book at my library and worked my way back, bought books etc. so spirit bomb is the start of my love for dragon ball. My team is blue vegeta, zbroly and baseku, both caracter can setup my spirit bomb easy and vegeta blue is point and hes a glass canon. It seems almost as people want to underestimate him because of his past so when i start trashing them its too late, the damage is so high, most basic combo routes with him is like 50% of a health bar. Means i crack open twice someone and get a kill and im somewhat bad at the game.

I've used vegeta blue as a solid anchor for a good while and it hurt when I couldn't objectively argue with any of your original points(now mostly due to a lack of larger general knowledge), so it was awesome that you addressed the hiccups with the original vid I couldn't spot. Also, the breakdown of goku blue's level 3 was hilarious and also surprising. It makes total sense that you gave vegeta blue's level 3 more sense since goku blue does such a better job of hiding that his level 3 is just a bunch of asset flips. Still, it was both funny and informative to learn about how goku blue's level 3 is just the most subtle reuse of already existing animation I've ever seen and overall, I'm glad vegeta blue got these awesome buffs that he really did need and that people have mostly come around to him.
