Our cells also have mRNA with unmodified U. How does our immune system differentiate U in foreign mRNA from that of our own?

Our mRNAs don't usually leave the cell. If our cells get injured the WBCs and other inflammatory processes do recognize them as foreign... hence, ours mRNAs do not leave the cell.

I have some questions: 1. So how exactly does the degradation process work for the mRNA? Is it via Ubiquination? 2. How was the viral mRNA Sequence found? 3. Could you maybe explain the process of the "natural" corona infection (from entry to body up to presentation of the spikes) 4. Do the viral Spikes tend to build multimers? Or are they also being presented in multimers? 5. Could you maybe elaborate on the biology of the entry methode of the mRNA into the cells? 6. Could you maybe also explain the biology of the nanoparticles and the other components of the vaccine, and what their function ist? Thank you very much in advanced! I will try to answer your questions in brief. 1. Ubiquitination is for proteins, not for RNA. RNA turnover is done be enzymes that remove the 5' cap, remove the polyA tail, and then exonucleases eat the RNA. (will make a video on it at some point). 2. Sequencing. 3. Thats a complex one - writing out the whole thing is a bit too much. I will try to make some virology videos at some point and address this there. 4. Viral spikes do build multimers. In vaccines, they are presented as monomers because of the mutation. 5. Same answer as #3. In short, the virus attaches to the membrane via some receptor and the cell simply eats the virus. Cells (Non-immune cells) are usually quite dumb at distinguishing viruses on their surface. 6. The point of the remaining components in the vaccine are largely some chemicals that are added for RNA stability and delivery. I believe lipids are the main protectants, because they protect the RNA from degradation and make the exterior sticky such that the particles containing mRNA are engulfed by cells. (as I said in #5, non-immune cells are pretty dumb, so they will eat more or less anything). Other components are just some salts, sugars, and stabilizers that you can also find in various other medications too. Hope this helps! 🙂
