When I was younger, I’d buy blank notebooks (blank as in no lines or grid) and I would fill them so easily. Then grid/dot notebooks became popular and I’d only buy them - but my creativity struggles with those. Something about the lines feels confining. Your video inspired me to pick up another blank notebook and see what happens :) thank you!

Thank you for inspiring me to be OK with whatever I put on my pages, ephemera from my life, my thoughts… I dedicated this first creative journal to you. Thank you again for inspiring me to freedom. You showed me that the key to my creative journal has been inside me all along.

People should watch videos like this before starting planners/journals. Honestly whenever i see someone who is saying “Journaling(including bullet journal) is difficult to start and maintain”, i wanted to shout out to the world that they want to make it pretty and thats why it’s impossible to keep doing it. Anyway happy new year everyone! I hope your journals are filled with nice memories this year.
@robyndismon3944 жыл бұрын
Please explain 2 me how wanting a journal 2 pretty is wrong or something 2 be criticized 4.. Whatever ones approach is deeply personal. We all have different paths. That said this sounds like 'journal shaming' 2 me. Putting one down 4 the immense level of effort and time it takes 2 create a personalized journal. I've watched and learned from dozens of videos from boho berry and so many others. They didn't just make one journal with 2 months of entries only 2 give up on month three. They have been making and creating 4 years. They r transparent about mistakes AND pages not used. Collections that just didn't work out. Sharing what pens and markers did and didn't work on specific journals. Grids versus blank pages. The list of positives is endless. In closing I vehemently disagree with your assigning hardworking artisans in the bullet journal community as 'imposters'. Imposters HOW?
@delendnum97774 жыл бұрын
@@robyndismon394 I agree with positive sides that you mentioned. It would be helpful to share thoughts about collections that didn't work out or which pen is better to use. thanks for remind me these. And I don't think bullet journal artisans are impostors. As you said, we have all different ways to express ourselves and daily life. I totally agree with that. Looking back the day I wrote the comment, I'd seen people who gave up or didn't even want to try bullet journal because of all the perfectly decorated journals on the internet. But decoration and design don't work out for everyone. I thought they might've been satisfied with bullet journal if they hadn't focused on decorations. Bullet journal and its community has helped me dealing with many problems. I think I wanted people to experience the same, not giving up. and then somehow I happened to write the comment in a kind of assertive way. I'm sorry.

Trying to be more loose and organic with it so I don’t have to overthink things or be burdened by the process. Wow, you have really set me free from the paralysis I have in starting a journal! For years I have wanted to do this but I don't draw or paint and and I just never knew what to do in a journal! I don't really want to write my thoughts and feelings in the journal either. I write songs for that and that is very satisfying. But I love the idea of doing something in a book that I can hold in my hand. I just bought a moleskine expanded dotted and I was going to use it as a planner/bullet journal but in the past when I tried this I had a hard time with it and I realized that for me making planner layouts week after week would grow tiresome and feel like a chore. I prefer planners that are already dated and so I ended up buying a dated planner for 2021. But now I have this beautiful expanded Moleskine and I have no idea what to do with it. Your video helped so much!! Thank you for sharing your journal with us!

Thanks for sharing! I really like your approach. I feel the need to have topics sectioned off a bit, but I love the idea. I tried keeping all my subjects in inserts a traveller's notebook, but that didn't work for me. I'm in a number of A5 notebooks: 1) A business journal/planner 2) Main journal that I write in when something comes up that I want to write about. I don't write in it too often. I'm learning to be okay with that. 3) ! "write it out" journal for when I get stuck and I just need to work through something. I keep this journal separate from my main journal because it has things that I don't need to reflect back on, and don't want to save for the long term. 4) I've also got a gratitude journal, and I'd like to start using that daily again. 5) I do art or art related activities everyday. Sometimes that takes the form of planning, or 6) working in a larger art journal.

I have such a creative block when it comes to expressing my inner thoughts, Journaling, bujo-ing. Idk. I'm very hard on myself. I have a very negative inner self talk. I have always loved Journaling and planning with planners. I find it funny. The community of BuJo and Journaling -- I see it coming from schooling days. I remember when in school (middle school and high school) in English class we were required to have what they called a "Writers Notebook" and it was usually always a Composition Notebook. The teacher would have us decorate the cover and we were required to write an entry and journal every day. I have such vivid memories from that time in my life. I always loved the creativity it gave me. But as I got older, I found it harder and harder to have a journal and write my thoughts...I'm too much in my head, too much of a perfectionist, I overthink so much and I'm so hard on myself that I've found it makes it so hard for me to journal. I want to get back into Journaling and I want to start a BuJo so badly. But I'm struggling on getting started, not feeling intimated and it working for me.
