MOLLIE MARRIOTT
Daughter of iconic rock star, Steve Marriott, releases new single (‘A Million Miles’), ahead of highly anticipated album (‘Truth Is A Wolf’)
Mollie Marriott, the daughter of renowned songwriter Steve Marriott, and step-daughter to Joe Brown, follows in the family footsteps with the release of her new single ‘A Million Miles’ on 23 October, with a new album ‘Truth Is A Wolf’ scheduled for early 2016. Mollie recently joined The Faces on backing vocals when they reunited for a short set on September 5th in support of Prostate Cancer and has just been confirmed for Bluesfest on November 8th.
‘A Million Miles’, is a beautiful Fleetwood Mac-esque rock/pop melody which showcases Mollie’s stunning vocals on a bed of vibrant energetic riffs and beats. Depicting the heart-wrenching tale of broken down love, the track is a biographical episode from Mollie’s own life.
Born with music flowing through her veins, Mollie first stepped onto the global music stage at the tender age of 15, when Liam Gallagher personally invited her to record vocals for the Oasis album ‘Heathen Chemistry’. Mollie never looked back and was quickly pulled in to work with Proud Mary (signed to Big Brother) and the Modfather himself, Paul Weller. Mollie sang at the Astoria London tribute to her late father Steve performing with Paul Weller, Zak Starkey & Deborah Bonham and at The Royal Albert Hall with Dean Rees Steve Ellis and legendary Ronnie Wood as part of the Ronnie lane Memorial Concert, as well as sharing a stage with the likes of Jeff Beck and Mick Hucknall.
Mollie has also worked live with Joe Brown and his band before having been involved with a week run at the Theatre Royal Windsor whilst previewing the songs for the Musical Skiffle which Joe and Roger Cook have written. She has sung backing vocals for Joe, Dennis Locorriere (Dr Hook), Mark Knopfler and Chas and Dave for Joe Browns 50 years in show business gig at The Royal Albert Hall.
As well as having a rock side, Mollie has also shown a deep, rich soul and R’n’B side to her voice by working with well know backing singer, Ikette P.P Arnold (who has worked with both her father and the likes of Beyonce). Added to which, Mollie also recently worked with Tom Felton of Harry Potter fame, proving herself to be a versatile vocal talent!
Destined to be a musical success, Mollie Marriott is now flying solo and ‘A Million Miles’ is just the start. Lovers of music - enjoy!!!
‘A Million Miles’ is released on 23 October on MITA Records
‘Truth Is A Wolf’ is released early 2016 on MITA Records

Lovely lady and lovely interview, thankyou. A tear to my eye appeared when talking about her wonderful dad..... I still use a harmonica he gave me after an all night chat ....on the 1978 SF Reunion tour, I did the sound engineering. He was certainly a hell raiser but all good clean fun. He also really wanted my beaten up sunburst Telecaster, not fashionable at the time, when we played the same gig in Rome in 1967 (I think), so he gave me that pink LesPaul for it that's in the Tin Soldier vids.... With PP. I'd love to see a virtual duet with Steve, that'd be fantastic. Peace👍🇬🇧

She looks so much like her father. He was one of the most underrated rock front man / vocalists of all time. If you don't know who Steve Marriott was, check out "I don't need no doctor" from Humble Pie's "Rockin the Fillmore". It's one of the most amazing live performances from that era.

It is THE version, but Blackie Lawless and WASP did a pretty decent cover of it, and it's on their LIVE in the Raw LP. Little known fact; none other than Ray Charles (RIP) WROTE that tune, something I never knew about one of my favorite songs of all time, until 2018! lol
