Angus's brother Malcolm was considered one of the best rhythm guitarists there is. He plays with open chords. Read about him. These guys are in their mid fifties when they did this and they are rocking a crowd half their age. Look at drummer Phil Rudd, old enough to be the dad to everyone in the crowd.
@m.ericwatson968 Жыл бұрын
Malcolm is brilliant, saw them live in '82, to my surprise Malcom was 60%+ of the guitar, watchin him, Cliff and Phil on drums, I finally understood the Rhythm and Blues/Rock and Roll pocket and what a rhythm section actually meant, Tight AF! Angus was like whip cream and sprinkles on top of a perfect sundae, brilliant band.

I was at that gig; my second AC/DC gig in Glasgow, where they played regularly due to a combination of their Scots roots and the reception that they were guaranteed. There are parts of my skin that I still try to not wash. As me and my schoolmates were showered in Angus’ sweat! The choreography between Bon and Angus was something else, and Angus was on top form.

I saw AC/DC only last weekend here in Croke Park in Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪 They were phenomenal. Angus Young running around like a 20yr old and Brian Johnson still singing at 76yrs of age. 80,000 people rocking out. So happy I got to see them again. Doubt they’ll be coming this way again any time soon. I saw them in 2009 , when Rosie rode the train 😁

When Angus & Malcolm (RIP) were growing up, it was the older Malcolm that was playing in bands. Much older brother George had had nationwide record hits in the 60's and so I guess music & guitars had always been around the house. The younger kid Angus picked up a guitar around the house and just took to it immediately. Malcolm said Angus just caught up and kept on going. Angus always said Malcolm was the genius and had the imagination to come up song ideas and chord progressions and he just flies solos over the top of the song power of Malcolm on rhythm guitar. The brothers were such a power house together. Take a listen to the amount of the sound that Malcolm is making to support Angus. It also helps that Phil Rudd (drums) & Cliff Williams (1977 onwards) are one of the greatest rhythm sections

A tragic case of the hedonism of the 70's/80's rock era. John Bonham as well. Fueled by the insane energy of the fans and the money coming in it is easy to lose one's self in all of it. Some manage to survive it and learn a lesson to help them clean up. Some just keep slamming away and never get tagged. But many don't live to regret it. The 27 club is full of them. If you look at the entirety of rock and excess you have to wonder just how some of the old folk like Ozzie are still alive.

Angus plays the guitar like it's part of him. He literally makes the thing sing. Not too many guitarists have ever been able to do that. Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan are the only other two who really come to mind in this genre. His solos are so soulful and a pleasure to listen to. He's definitely my favorite guitarist by far. There might be better guys technically but nobody sounds as good and writes better solos. Not to mention how underrated he is as a rhythm guitarist. Him and Malcolm are as tight as tight can possibly be. GOAT for sure

Howzit going mate - there is so much music out there now, it's near impossible to hear it all (especially for the 1st time). Two words - The Warning (a trio of Mexican sisters - 1st time I heard them was on the trailer for Midnight Suns video game). They are young (they started in their early teens) and are now in their early 20s. They performed Enter Sandman (Metallica) and then later re-imagined it for the Blacklist tribute album (this is the version from the game trailer). They all can sing and play multiple instruments. And they are f**kin' phenomenal. I would love to hear you react to Dust to Dust (Live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 08/29/2022) since you love live performances so much (and if you do like them, you should check out the rest of the concert). Paulina (Pau) the drummer wrote the lyrics when she was 13 and Dani (guitar) and Ale (bass) wrote their own music for it in collaboration. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXScepWNjtCcptUsi=XfJXwpHJWS0NQ4AG As for AC/DC - I've been listening to them for the last 40 odd years and still get goosebumps listening to Angus shred. And congrats on nearly 28k subscribers mate - that's 23k in 4 months :)

Only then I realized that the main sound of ACDC came from Malcolm Young, not Angus. In this particular song I have to listen really closely for anything from Angus up until later in the song. Now in songs like Thunderstruck things are different. There Angus is shining right from the beginning, not only later in the solo parts.
