@the_littlesiren Not only that! WHY didn’t the company pay for her medical care? ESPECIALLY once they were *refusing* to bring her home?!?🤨🤨 Just shows how little they actually valued her. All they cared about was what her name/notoriety could bring to them. They didn’t want to bring her home because the whole point of the trip was “India WITH Molly”...no matter how sick she was. Personally? Had I been in Molly’s shoes I would’ve went after that company for endangering not just my health/life but also my(her) career as a public speaker since had her throat gotten worse she could’ve lost most or even all speaking ability permanently. Then yeast infections that severe, esp when you can’t take oral meds for it, can actually cause pelvic inflammation which can then lead to permanent fertility problems if not handled quickly & carefully. H*LL! The damn company couldn’t even TRY to make sure the key person their entire trip is linked to HAD FOOD SHE COULD EAT!!😒😒🙄🤨🤦🏻‍♀️😡 So lets see...this company...*failed* to pay for medical treatment, *failed* to make sure she had food/drink she could actually ingest, *refused* to bring her home even when begged (which feels close to being held against your will to me) & more...so yea.🤨😒🤨 I’m sure the company did some good thru their projects BUT...it’s obvious that their bottom line was *FAR* more important than any of their employees. Which is just wrong. Glad Molly is ok and doesn’t work for them anymore!

Technically, you aren’t supposed to fly if you get sick in a different country. You could be bringing something potentially deadly to another place that might not be able to combat the disease. I mean it’s messed up that they wouldn’t let her leave but they could have at the most had her driven to a proper hospital with proper care. They should have at least paid for someone to do that much.

It hit 39°C in summer these last two summers and I wanted to die. 26°C is nice summer weather and we now have normal around 0-10°C November weather. We had - 21°C a couple of years ago and my part of the world is not even close to used to that, it never goes below - 10 and that's already rare.

Molly, as a mom this is SUCH a hard story to listen to!!! You poor, sweet girl. Bless your mom. It must have been awful for her to have your baby so far and SO sick. I think it was a HUGE mistake and frankly a liability for that company not to fly you home IMMEDIATELY!! That was a HUGE miss on their part. Thank goodness you don’t have any lasting effects!!!

It's spread through contaminated food and water, it's a bowel infection. As long as everyone was taking proper hand-washing techniques etc, then it's unlikely to be a risk, especially if she was vaccinated too.

I can't believe that after having 3 separate infections and being forced to stay in a place with no hot water or climate control to even make you comfortable, or even healthcare that isn't 2 1/2 hours away that the company you worked for wouldn't immediately offer to send you home. Being in a foreign country and getting infections is no joke and god forbid if something had happened to you because of being so sick there, what would they have thought of your pleas to go home then? I'm just shocked and disgusted that they didn't seem to care how sick you were and didn't put your health and well being before the cost of a flight. I understand that this trip was probably well thought out and planned carefully but if you were that sick in that type of situation and they wouldn't let you go home then shame on them.

I had a very similar experience back in 2010. Started with the severe throat infection but I didn’t have the vomiting thankfully. I did get some of the paper cut type pain after eating pizza because it badly scraped up my throat. I ended up with a horrific lady infection too from the antibiotics (majority of which were in injection form in my butt cheek) and had to use monistat and cold towels too. I also had diarrhea from the antibiotics as well. I was sick for probably about 3-3.5 weeks or so. It was awful. My bf at the time set alarms for during the night to have me take my meds and brought me water and soup and soft foods to eat. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

I don't get you people who don't projectile vomit every time you get a bout of strep throat! LOL I was so sick with recurrent bouts of strep throat (secondary to other health issues that caused my immune system to crash) in my teens that at one stage, I was on the verge of sepsis (aka blood poisoning) and I think I had at least one bout of strep throat every month for most of three years. Every single time even now (and I'm in my 40s) that I develop a throat infection, my first symptom, even before my throat gets really sore, is horrible vomiting that will last right the way through until I've had maybe five days of antibiotics, and hoo boy, THAT is fun when you have tonsils that are trying to close your throat off covered in pus patches. Nasty, nasty, nasty, I hate it.

Have you been to Badmaash (sp?) there in LA? I've heard it's really good. It's owned by two Indian guys from Toronto and is fusion Canadian-Indian food. Also I'm quite prone to "lady infections" and I've had some really severe ones like what you described, and it was bad enough in the comfort of my own home so I can't even imagine how uncomfortable you must have been. I just have to say molly. You are a brave, brave lady. I won’t even go in the ocean at night for fear of what I wont be able to see in the water. But you are doing all this traveling, amazing trips , trying these amazing things; and wow 6 day canoe trip? Like , You are truly superhuman. Kind of confirms a theory about how sighted people are so afraid of so many things just because of what we see .. our perception and judgment based off of our sight creates many mental blocks . If you take that away, then you just become open to feeling and experience in it’s true essence.

Girl, I was 31 years old and had a really bad cold in Cologne, Germany where I was staying in a nice Ibis hotel and all I wanted was my mum. I struggled to feed myself and take care of myself in a country where many speak English. And I’m sighted (with strong prescription glasses). Amazing that you overcame this! 💪

Ahh this reminds me of when I went to South Africa for work! I was meant to be setting up a new department with my boyfriend as we work in the same company so they sent us both. Anyways I got severe and I mean severe food poisoning, My stomach was in soo much pain and I felt like I was going to die. Luckily someone who worked with us who was from the area brought me anti sickness, probiotics, electrolyte water and these awesome painkillers that helped me feel soo much better! I hadn’t eaten in days but things were still coming out of me and I hadn’t any clue where all this stuff was coming from! Ah Molly you poor thing you had it so much worse but how awesome to put a positive spin on it! All my love sam from the UK xxx
