Fun story... she gave a show at the Metropolis in Montreal in the late 90's. I was with my uncle outside at the backstage listening to the show as best we could, whenever the door would open we'd get a glimpse of her! At the end she came out and walked to her hotel with some of her people, we walked with her and got her autograph and spent a good 20 minutes talking with her! She's easily the nicest most awesome person of our time.

LEAVE OUR BJORK ALONE U BOTHERSOME BUGS
@JoshuaHogenmiller-h1h22 күн бұрын
The date is October 26, 2024. I am alone for the weekend in my college dorm right now. I have been listening to Bjork for almost 2 years now, and had pourposfully went slow in discovering all her best songs. I savior the special moment, the moment when someone gets a true wave of dopamine from listening to music beyond art, to listen to music that truly touches the soul. I choose certain days when I am fully relaxed (off an edible or not lol) and try and find a live performance I have NOT seen from her yet. Somehow, I missed this one. I watched this concert/video for this time and also listened to Bachelorette for the very first time. I write all this because Bachelorette was one of those songs. One of the rare, and what I have found mostly from Bjork; one of the songs that truly touches the soul. I write all this because right now I am essentially sharing pure nostalgia, nostalgia that If I were to read it would make me realize how special songs like Bjork's are. This comment might get lost on the internet, seen from someone a decade in the future. Like how I viewed this decades later then other comments, when from right now, which is 2024. Maybe her songs will go trending on social media, perhaps on a new popular app a decade in the future. And one person from that time might come back and see this comment. If you are reading this, truly savor the moments when discovering Bjork for the first time. There is no artists like her. No one. And thats what I am afraid of... what if after I discover all the good songs by Bjork for the first time, and feel that soul-touching feeling... all to never feel it again because NO artist as good as her shows up? Are you telling me that in 10 years, a talent will have the music and vocal capability as Bjork? Peace and love, whoever is reading this. Listen to Bjork off a safe but effective dose of edibles. Because... this WILL let you BE ABLE to feel the feeling of listening to a Bjork song for THE FIRST TIME. I wonder, how many people have tried this? I need more people to discover Bjork😭so they can share this feeling with me!

My favorite thing about watching her perform live is that she seems completely unfettered in her personality...like she knows most people will either not get it or think it's really strange and doesn't think anything of it. It's like looking at someone whose unabashed sense of expression is still 4 years old. "Look at me, isn't this cool?".....and we've all been conditioned *not* to just say "fuck yeah, it is! and I wanna dance too!"....and I get a bit of that back with her. Gift from the gods, I swear.

I am from India and a huge Björk fan. "Dancer in the Dark - I've seen it all" was the first song that I heard in 2000. Back then we were still using the dial-up internet connection and it took about 20 hours to download this 40 MB video. There was no KZbin at that time, P2P sharing software, like lime-wire, were the only way to exchange files. That song got me hooked to her music. My friends found me weird, finding this concert video on KZbin feels like going back in time to those days.

Ya gotta admit, she lives in her own world and she has a voice to which no other can copy nor compare. I started listening to Björk back in '93 when she was with the Sugarcubes and then ventured out on her own. It was (almost) as though the band held her back because once she went solo, she soared! This is a wacky chick, but she can sing!

Tf are you talking about held back? She was the major staple to that band. Sugarcubes' wouldn't be what it became without her and she expressed herself and was allowed to aswell
@mckenzombie4 жыл бұрын
@@Tony-iu7sw The Sugarcubes were truly excellent, but only because Björk, and they knew it. That's why she was so free to express herself with them. But without her friends, she reached greater heights of creative genius that couldn't have been achieved with them. Hence: "held back".

@@mckenzombie well this is all subjective because everyone has different taste in music. Personally I can't stop listening to the sugarcubes. But I'm not really into Bjorks solo albums.. don't get me wrong, she created quite a few good tracks I really like, but none compared to what she did with the Cubes. She is an elf from Lothlorien...'so old and young, and so gay and sad, as it were.' Quite a beauty.

I know that I am not alone in finding myself constantly clapping throughout the entire concert, as if I was there! This was one of the absolutely best concert-performances that I have EVER seen, and it is mainly because her voice is one of those rare voices that truly sparkles brilliantly when accompanied with a classical string-orchestra. There are some songs that I do not like, but stunning beauties like "Um Akkeri" and "Possibly Maybe" outshine ANY negativity. BJORK IS BEAUTIFULLY UNIQUE.

Dearest Björk, I think that you've been commissioned ("ordained") by music to convey emotions through your voice from listeners. Gratitudes back to you, Björk. warmth and endless respect. Claudia from ITALY
