Miriam, you can get the fresh ones in African food stores; it is readily available. We eat it a lot in West Africa but we let it boil and add a variety of meat and fish, palm oil or green as is...We accompany it with maize/ yam/cassava meal "dumplings" and or a tomato stew. Where I come from (Togo) it is called Ademe...In Benin next door it is called NinNouWoui...in Ghana, Ayoyo...Glad to see how food unite an otherwise divided continent. Shoukran...

Tastes good, and I feel that I have eat something like that in my childhood. I am from Peru, I love soups, special ethnic soups, the taste and texture/slimy mouth-feel is so familiar but I can't say what it is. Real good. Do you say that is served with rice? I feel like breaking an egg in it ( love soups with egg)
@MiriamzKitchen4 жыл бұрын
Traditionally we eat it with balady bread (i have a recipe for it up on the channel) or white rice with vermicelli pasta (also have a recipe for it) But personally sometimes i enjoy it just as a soup with the spoon 😁 If u were tried it with an egg please let me know how it is, I'm very intrigued to know the results 😍

I love this dish. My childhood favourite. Every time I visit family in Egypt all my aunties make me this. I've never made it myself though. My dad has always made it for us. I'm living away from him now so this video is good to show me how. Please can you do a bamia video also. Another favourite of mine. I'm half Egyptian and my partner is half Mauritian so I'm excited to share my Egyptian culture and food with our son. I live in a small town now so not sure how easy it will be to get everything I need. Thank you for the videos. I'm making Egyptian rice and bamia tonight so hoping it turns out nice as I'm really looking forward to it. I've missed my dads cooking.

@MiriamzKitchen5 жыл бұрын
If it's too thick u can always add more stock. It gets dark because you probably let it boil. It's best if the stock itself is boiling then you add the molokhia and let it simmer not boil. It takes less than 5 min.
