I so WISH I had this kind of relationship with my mom. Unfortunately, we are polar opposites. Our relationship is SO unhealthy, toxic. I avoid her as much as possible. She has no respect for me, and even less since I told her straight up that I didn't believe the same way she did, but more specifically told her "I'm not a christian." Shes the kind of person that never lets you get out a single solitary sentence, forgets everything, doesn't try to have relationships outside of people that think like her, and she is obvious in the way she looks doen on others. I only came to truly understand and see her true colors this past year and I am now 29. My entire life, I had no idea how controlling she was of life and how unaccepting she was of me. She was never there for me emotionally and mentally. If you have a parent that doesn't support you and who you ARE, don't let that hold you back in life, and give yourself space! Don't wait for anybody to ever change or even grow..seek out your own friends that beckme family and work on yourself. I feel bad for anybody that doesn't have parents that are there for them. I miss my dad, he passed away 4, almost 5 years ago. If you lost your parents, I'm sorry for the loss and pain and grief you go through. Just some words of love from this randm woman on the internet.. (me).
