Mom was rough around the edges but you could see her: loving, emotional, protective, charismatic and funny (her lil banter with Karamo was so funny). The tough shell no longer serves her. I hope she can shed it and breathe and truly be at peace with herself because then she’ll find it with her children.

It appears the mom wasn't protected growing up. The only way of survival was to fight. She was never held enough, loved enough, and shown that she was enough. Her behavior and things she says that fighting is her way of showing love and protection. She's a big teddy bear under that shell. She's never felt safe to let her guard down to let others in because of her past. I pray they're honest with the therapist and themselves so they can move forward to break the generational curse. I'm so happy for Karamo and his gift for all these families. Best of luck.

It’s something about mom that makes me like her. I wish the daughter wasn’t so loud and would listen. They are both broken and hurt. The daughter is trying to break the cycle but at no point should she think she is better than her mom. I think growth is due to us all and no one is ever too old for growth and change.

Ppl here can’t relate so they are expressing that in the comments due their issues. They simply need therapy to heal separately then they need help in how to communicate. This show really touched me because my mother was hypersensitive about someone touching us inappropriately!!! As an adult I assumed she had been molested. My first cousin confirmed it at my mother's funeral. Talking about family secrets of sexual and physical abuse. The problem is when my mother started accusing almost all men of being molesters and calling the police and social services!!! I became aware of my mothers mental illness when I was around ten years old .

I knew everyone will side with the mom. But I absolutely understand the daughter . Imagine telling your kids you hate them and making them feel like they are indebted to you just cause you have birthed them . And moms like this will gaslight you to the end of the world and their joy is when you argue with them . The psychological ,emotional, social effects it has on the daughter is life damaging . Once you have kids it’s your responsibility to heal yourself from past traumas , If you don’t you shouldn’t expect your kids to stay by your side !!

Nah.. you need to make peace with your own situation. I know what that's like too..... NOTHING my biological mother can say will ever excuse what she did to me growing up. But *this* woman... she's not like that. She has purity in her. She has accountability.. but she has trauma also. this isn't the low vibe narcissist who gaslights. This is a real woman with real demons she fights every day - ESPECIALLY when her own children are involved. She's not low like your mother. You will benefit from learning the differences.

I agree. When a person has the mom's traits, they are very likable to most people. They can manipulate and act to the point where only the people closest to them see the day in and day out drama and chaotic environment they create. Yes, clearly, the mom had a bad upbringing, but it was up to her as an adult to turn that around before bringing children into this world or at least before they become adults. The daughter also had a rough childhood. The mom continuously made the wrong choices and couldn't provide guidance. One time in prison is not necessary for most of us to take a good, hard look in that mirror, let alone three. Daughter is obviously trying to do better, brought her mom to the show, and is begging for them all to get professional help. She is also trying to maintain the relationship with her mother. The majority of the comments are quick to pity the mother and call out the daughter, and that's sad to me, especially with the basic facts we got. Not to mention that recovery from addiction is a lifelong discipline. I hope that they get the help they need and can have a flourishing relationship, husband and grandkids included.

I really feel for the mother because she has had to be so strong for her children and they disrespect her. That drives a mother crazy when you do all you can to protect and provide. Growing up in a rough city women have to go hard especially when raising young men. You have to be strict but don’t want to give abuse that you felt as a child. But sometimes when you spare the rod, you spoil the child. The daughter is angry because she is progressing in life and knows her mother has potential but when she recommends things to her mom she becomes angry. That offends the daughter (entitlement) and causes her to be disrespectful. God bless them both. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I definitely can relate because it’s a mirror and she mirrors her mother. So it can be very triggering. Me & my mom relationship is the same way. So I love her from her a distance and sometimes that’s what you have to do. ❤

There are soooo many families like this or similar children raising children but wasn’t raised properly to raise there children (blind leading the blind) it’s happening everywhere I feel counseling should be given to all families in need of it there’s so much money in the gov they need to provide counseling to families in need of it I bet that would help tons of families in America

Omg I can't explain it but I LOVE the mother ....she is the most sweetest/meanest person I've seen on this show. You can see clearly that she's been thru so much and that she truly cares for her daughter...but hurt people hurt people. There's hope with these two. May God bless them

Awww the mom so reminds me of myself. I been through a lot and as a woman from a more rough environment you have to adapt to survive. Especially raising children alone it’s a lot and can cause a lot of misguided anger… but kudos to them for getting to a starting point of change and she’s very lucky to have a mother that goes so hard for her bc everyone doesn’t have that 💕

This was very tough to watch but this happens in our community alot. People dont wont to go to therapy because they feel like it's a waste. This reminds me of me and my mother relationship I cant talk to her either. In our community everything is going to be ok and they try to sweep things under the rug. I love that they broke generational curses on national tv I'm so happy.

Tearjerker!😢 great ending and to see the mom soften up to her daughter...was sweet. My own mother is a hard cookie too, but being the baby of the crew and always talking to my mother, i always understood her reasoning. Also, my mom never yelled or went off on us, but if you were not her children or husband, good luck to you. Great segment!

Firstly there’s no parenting school, as a mother I didn’t even know what i was doing, and I still. but I’ve done a great job so far, my daughter is now in high school and I’m so proud of me. I know it would kill me to have my daughter raising her voice at me like that regardless of my sins, your growth shouldn’t give you the authority to do so. We go through so much to keep our children alive but for them to growing up and thinking they have the authority to disrespect us! It’s not the way

Mum took me here with her when I was a Teenie. She keeps insulting , saying I should be thankful I'm in Europe ! Really??? After she brought me here and kicked me out at 16., to keep her marriage!!! I see a mother that had 6 kids that has been through alot for her kids. A mother that gave her all for a child that did not appreciate her. A mother that is a MOTHER . That has gone to the the streets for her children. But I feel like she needs to let them go. Let them go and live her life. Beautiful ending

I tell you I was leaning on the daughter side at first until I really listened to the mom and understood the “why” was of her actions . It was out of pure protection for her kids. I sympathized & cried like a baby bc I felt the mothers love for her kids and grandkids. She’s rough around the edges but she is a true ride or die mom at the end of the day & some ppl don’t have that for a mom. I feel like my mom would go to jail too for me and my brothers lol 😂 play with us if you want too. She very beautiful lady on the outside but baybeh don’t play with her kids or grands. You wouldn’t see it coming. So kudos to both the mom & daughter for embracing at the end. And to Karamo bc like the mom said he can definitely tap into what’s going on and his approach with it is why ppl are receptive on both sides
