This morning, Kintaro was mentally stable.
Yesterday, he was with Mother Genki all the time.
Since this morning he is in the condition he was in before Genki's treatment.　
There have been various reports in the news about a baby gorilla named Jamella. They are looking for a surrogate mother for this baby. I personally think that if Genki had been there, she could have been Jamella's surrogate mother right away.

She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAKK.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

Jameela is having the time of her life with her new family. The videos were so cute. The other kids were playing with her and the older adult members were carrying her around. I was so happy to see it. ❤

Jameela is not with the troop other than through the mesh right now. Little Kayembe only 2 and a foster of Freddie right now, was too rough and the zoo is training him with positive reinforcement to be calmer around tiny Jameela. Freddie who is going to be Jameela’s surrogate mom after a 1 time together in the gorilla house went so well and she’s an excellent proven surrogate. She picked tiny Jameela up after only seconds of finding her in the nest. Freddie is so good at mothering she even started producing milk to feed Kayembe even though it being 17 years since having her last natural born baby. Kayembe still very much attached to his “momma” Freddie and is just a playmate to his birth mom Nneka. That zoo is excellent at what they do for their gorilla troop. Even “daddy” Mokolo was interested in Jameela and they all visit her at the mesh. Jameela can be followed with much better coverage than the news outlets at Larry’s Animal Safari on YT. There’s a very interesting video about Kayembe becoming a Freddie foster baby, even though he still lives with his natural born mom and his dad. Not of the gorillas but of the Drs and keepers involved in that situation at a meeting for donors. I wish the female in that troop Tusa could meet Gentaro in Japan though. ❤️

@@Art-qq5rc yes, right now she is a surrogate to Kayembe who was born early and unexpectedly and his mom Nneka, also in the troop never got maternal instincts to care for him. The keepers had to take him after waiting a while so he didn’t become hypothermic. When he was put back, Freddie scooped him up right away. His mom just plays with him, she’s never been a mom to him.

Genki would not have been a good choice for a surrogate mother. A surrogate mother has to be able to provide milk for the newborn and genki wasn't able to do that with her own kids.

That’s not true. There have been other surrogates that did not produce milk both in Chimps and Gorillas.. they are bottle fed through the mesh. Kintaro was given extra nutrition through the mesh to compensate for Genkis low milk production.

Jameela has to be bottle fed. The surrogate don’t be breastfeeding her. She’ll receive her milk through a tube with a nipple attached that goes through the cage bars. They’re training her right now so she can go up to the contraption and drink milk whenever she wants or when they put it out for her,. She’s in training. They’re all in training for her. Everyone is in training.

I think so too. Jameela would be very loved by Genki. Her new potential Mom adopted Keyembe, a troop member whose mom wouldn't care for him, as a baby and at 47 (she is now 49) started to actually lactate. She is loving like Genki is.

She has been a wonderful mother with Kintaro, although her relationship with Gentaro seemed to be more strained & less nurturing. Maybe because they were separated when Gentaro was much younger? Gentaro is a beautiful young male, so muscular & with a beautiful stance. I am glad that Gentaro & Kintaro have enjoyed mostly a playful life together, as brother's.💜✌🏼

She couldn't be a surrogate mother. The surrogate mother has to provide milk for the newborn, and genki didn't produce milk for her own kids. It takes more than love to be a surrogate.

I, too, think Genki would make a good surrogate. As I see it, Genki was a surrogate to Gentaro. And, please correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think she nursed Gentaro. And she has experience with Kintaro in letting the keepers give him bottles, and then later on baby food and other supplemental foods. Yes, I believe Genki would make a good surrogate or foster mother for a baby gorilla.

Genki is a loving and maternal mom. I feel she would have taken care of Jameela well. However the transfer from Texas to Ohio is a better transport instead of to Japan. And Frederika a know surrogate took to her immediately. I am just glad there are mother gorillas who are surrogates. Love your channel and narration. Genki would not be a good choice for a surrogate. Yes she is very maternal. But the surrogate mother has to be able to provide milk for the newborn, and genki was not able to do that with her own kids. Not too mention she really struggled with kintaro when he got a little bigger. She was barely able to carry him, and he was small for his age. I'm afraid that her baby days are over.

That is not the only issue as another person pointed out. There is no way they put a gorrilla as young as jameela in the same enclosure with Gentaro, a 2 year old kayembe is difficult sure but a silverback brother would certainly not do well at all with genki and a new baby.

She probably would be a great surrogate mom, but I don't think the USA has a habit of sending out gorillas to other countries. I'm not saying it's never been done, but it's not very necessary. We have a lot of gorillas in the USA, not so much in Japan.

Si,la familia Momotaro, vive en una jaula, que baje Dios y lo vea. Si,no fuera por los problemas, siempre políticos que hay,da lo mismo personas que animales estas cosas,se solucionaban pronto.Juegan con los sentimientos de las personas. Ya,quisiera yo estar en peligro de extinción, y ser salvado aunque sea por un humano.Aunque los humanos,sean los que me maten a mí y mi familia para exponerme como cabeza de trofeo,en un museo particular.😥Que cada uno,interprete su vida como quiera.😘GL.

Jammila resides at another zoo in Japan..As much as as Genki would be a wonderful caring gentle. and suitable surrogate mother..❤I think the chosen zoo is better suited for the infant..but
