My mother-in-law kicked me and my 6-month old out of the house in the middle of the night and commanded that my husband stay with her. I left that following morning with my son and my mother opened her doors for me. My husband didn’t come until after one month but my mom told me to keep silent for Allah loves those who are patient. Subhanallah, my husband and I now have our own home but every time he visits his parents’ home and comes back, his mood and attitude shifts. I’m still praying for a day that they stop interfering in our lives.

Same happend with me. I suffered for 18 years. Constantly bullied by mother an father in law. Husband always moody with me due to his parents. Then they started treating my children the same way. I asked for a divorce, was ready to walk away with my kids. But husband wouldn't let me leave. I told him how i was bullied behind his back. How i hated his attitude towards me. Alhamdulilah its been 5 year's, we had to completely cut both side parents out of our lives an now are living peacefully mashaAllah

Actually, all sisters need to see this first. One day they in turn will be mothers InshaAlla. They should not see their son's wife as competition. And should learn how to regulate their emotion. So many husbands are living in hell because of the contentious pickering between thier wife and thier mother. How come the fathers in general are able to steer away from this stereotype while the mothers are embracing it? To all females, please stop and think hard before you unload on us men. We have our share of problems but you too have your share as well.

Last summer I had it and told her that I'm not okay with how she's treating me and my family and you know what happened? I'm writing this for all the men that are confused, maybe it will help a bit. I wished somebody would wake my man up with this. Not every mother is kind and loving. Sometimes it's not about a generation gap or a simple argument. Some mother in laws go very far and hurt their daughter in laws because they don't get what they want. Some mother in laws want a sort of servant, a maid that has to obey everything she says (even when she is not nice and friendly), some of them are jealous, because their son is in love and puts the needs of his wife first. That jealousy can easily turn into hate and she may try to come between them. This is a great video, but in this video the mother is considered a good, loving human being that makes 'mistakes' sometimes. That can be fixed easily by communicating, and the mother will understand cause she loves her son. Like I said some mothers just think about what they want and don't care how their sons feel, it just doesn't matter to them. You may have a loving mother so this can sound ridiculous to you, but trust me when I say some mothers are selfish and whatever you do you cannot make them happy unless you do exactly as they say (even when it makes you very unhappy). Respect is very important, but when somebody hurts you, insults you and tries to breakup you relationship just because they want to without any reason at all, sorry that person doesn't deserve respect. You can be patient for so long, you can pray, but if you tried everything in your power to change things and it still doesn't work, you have to be real man, take care of your wife, defend her and stand next to her and try to distance yourself from your mother to protect your wife and marriage. Maybe then she will realise that she's doings something wrong and losing her son. You can still take care of your mother, but your wife has to come first! You made your wife a promise in witness of Allah, you should keep that promise. Allah gave you intelligence to figure out who is right and who is wrong. Just because she gave birth to you doesn't mean she is always right.

This is definitely a serious discussion that you need to have with you husband. Of course he has responsibilities towards his parents and he must support them but he also has responsibilities towards you. Discuss maybe alternative solutions. If he has siblings maybe they can share the responsibility. I'm married and in my own home but still give money to my parents because it's not fair that my brother has to do it alone and its also not fair to my sister in law.

@@IDontCare39 first off mufti simplified it way too much, my case all my brother who married ditched our parents , second prophet pbuh was orphan, this part of the knowledge is in grey zone whether to serve parent while married, what we do know from Hadith prophet pbuh ask us to respect mother three times, in the Quran after Allah, it's the parents, we can't say uff to them. So there is no concrete answer, third, modern society dictate success with material and power, there is no spiritual link here with the way you or other woman's are replying , you all are echoing be a man , how can you get one when society illusion person who acts like a man toxic and then demand 'be a man' from the very same society, don't fool yourself.

I am disappointed with mufti menk oversimplifying male's parent by overruling them just like that, I don't see him among the likes of imam shafi, hanafi, hanbali or Malik, they would think twice on this kind of matter, prophet pbuh said to respect mother 3 times, Quran said you can't even say uff to your parent, don't tell me you can just simply respectfully debate with exposing mother's error, there will be a big fight. You would be naive if you think you can pull that off peacefully, second when a person is above 40 years, you can't change their habit. In my case, all my brothers ditched my parents and if that is the true solution to throw them in old age, best stay single.

Many of them preaching Islam women should like this or that but no one is questiong or asking men to protect their women and respect them. This is cultural thing not religion related...in my country when couple get married they live in their own home not with his other parents..we don't practise that..if parents are old they come to live with either daughter or son home whichever can financially support them...but a man who let's his mother abuse his wife isn't a man and shouldn't be married at all..your wife comes first. Protect her

In pakistan we have family culture man got married but he must take care for parents. It's not like that parents come first or wife come first. Parents have there own rights n wife has own rights. We don't send parents old home or leave alone.

S N Ali what are you talking about? The parents aren’t senile. They have the capability to live alone. They also usually have lots of other children. It’s got nothing to do with a care home. Most people’s parents are in their 40’s/50’s when their kids get married. They don’t need assistance they are perfectly functioning adults.

When things got worse, in the end we must choose between wife and mother, and BELIEVE ME I HAVE TRIED to respect and argue my mother at the same time if there is anything I think wrong. IT NEVER WORKS especially for major eastern community. in the end Mother is just an old lady who wants some respect from his son, and right or wrong I wont be as I right now if not because my mother. whether is wrong or right in the end I must side with my Mother. There is no Argue in this. I've tried almost my entire life tring this "METHOD" but it never works. I always end up making my mother crying :(. so yes the final choice always mother over wife.

If the husband respect his mother His wife will also love her. Mother have passed almost her half length of life span. There is no point of hurting her and updating the generation gap. Mother is mother Teach the spouse to respect and love and care her. But not to be slave. And support your wife. Console her when mother accuse her for anything. And gently handle the mom.

No, if the wife is a good human being, she will be kind to mother even if she's treated badly. I don't think you understand the matter thoroughly. The mother has given you birth, cared for you for years. Gave you her love. Now that you're able, you have a wife/family and love her and give her full attention as she does to you. Now what the Mom feels is she got replaced. She knows it's wrong to think, but she can't help but being jealous. On the inside, she won't fully accept her as part of her family but she won't show the son her jealousy. There start pointing out flaws and mistakes of the girl so husband realises hey, my mother does it better. Hence the video clearly states to see clearly who's fault it is and confront them even if it was the mother. Also yes some wife play politics but being a husband you can see it clearly.

@@iiitsnoor Please do not discredit another person's experience by making ignorant statements like this. Are there not parents who have neglected/harmed their own children? The fact that she is more worried about bringing in another person's child into her situation speaks volumes about her condition. Know this: there are "parents" out there who are extremely abusive towards their children just as there are parents who are gentle and kind to them. I have personally seen well behaved children that are kind and gentle towards their parents get yelled at, beaten till their black and blue, called all kinds of horrible names, even making bad dua against their own children for illogic reasons (astaghfirulah)! Even Prophet Muhammed (SAW) didnt make bad duas against his own enemy let alone his own flesh and blood! It is disgusting behaviour and we cannot keep justifying it. These abusive parents have forgotten that that same child(ren) Allah blessed them with belongs to Him as well. Disregarding their experience as "beneficial to their learning" is implicitly blaming child when it may be the opposite. I am not saying that their are not bad children out their causing their parents stress. However, there are children suffering at the hands of their own parents too. People are quick to excuse the person exhibiting abhorrent behaviour towards their child and dismiss the child as being disrespectful. What about the child? Do their emotional and physical safety not count too? This is the exact dangerous thinking that an abusers such as narcissistic or psychopathic person rely on to continue their cycle of abuse. They know they can "get away" with their abuse because people will give them a pass for their horriible behaviour since "they are the parent". We cannot be blind and assume that children are at fault anytime they talk negative about the way a parent is treating them. Allah told us to treat all his creations with respect and kindness. He hates all forms of oppression and we will surely pay the price if we are unwilling to stand for the rights of all people. May Allah ease the pain of all those suffering in silence and May Allah keep us amongst the guided people. Amen 🤲🏾

MJ amen . sorry i didn’t want to sound rude it’s just that in the community I live in parents sometime beat up their children until they’re blue as you said and my parents did that to me but they only did it for my own good and sometimes they yell at me when they’re mad at someone else (mad from work ) and it’s unfair yeah , but my mother loves me even if she does that , she sacrificed a lot of things just so I could live a good life and I love more than anything and can’t imagine living without her . And every parent in my community are like that but they love their children and would take a bullet for them . I know that there are some parents who hate their children it was just hard for me to beleive that her mother hates her cause I’ve never seen a mother hate her child here in my community Even though they beat them up and sometimes are rude to their children but they just do it for there own good.
