Calm down, in this video it's just talking about the attitude that wives should posses particularly! He also talked about men's responsibilities towards her woman! Yes it's nice for a wife to smile and be warm towards her husband. I'll say the same goes exactly to the husband. Most women work outside the home now, and they face colleagues (men and women) who smile and bring their best foot forward. When they go home, and see their husband comatosed on the sofa watching tv, not caring about her or the family... things will play out exactly the same way. At the end of the day, men and women each have to take responsibility for themselves and be a loving partner to the other. Ur video made it look like whatever goes wrong in the relationship is the wife's fault. But truth is, it takes two hands to clap.

This is so important. This is a topic they always miss. Woman have to work just like men do. We experience temptation, I believe more than men, and can still be loyal. But when they come home and are off they can relax, takes naps, go to the mosque, do as they please. Woman come home have to cook clean and look after children, it's tiring. The husband shows no gratitude, gives her no attention, never compliments and she defends herself and she's annoying. He develops resentment and hate. But she should be strong right? Who's really the man? Who is really leading? Ugh I'm confused

If the husband doesn’t smile back then he is missing the opportunity to gain rewards from Allah. So the woman has to realize that what she does is to please her Lord first. If her intention is to gain Allahs pleasure in the first place whether the husband smiles back or not she is still gaining. The righteous wife never loses. In this life or the next. And we as women should never give up because Allah is with the patient. This life is temporary so it’s important to choose a good husband to begin with. And if for some odd reason he is showing that he lacks appreciation for the righteous wife perhaps he will grow just by witnessing her dedication to earning the pleasure of Allah. Positivity brings Positivity for those who desire to be positive.

It's only a section from one of Ustaadh Nouman's enlightening lectures. Lets not put up assumptions...He might have addressed the matter from a female point of view later in his original lecture. The tite could have been something like "how a smile keeps matters cool" or "significance of smiling" this has nothing to do with being a good/bad wife. Chill out people. Peace.

Meyra First of all, why are you swearing? Secondly, I am a woman. You must either be a child or not very knowledgeable on Islam. Islam allows for a man to be married to 4 wives as long as he does justice between them. If I don't want to be a co-wife then I will put that in my contract. Divorce isn't always a solution and is hated by Allah so we should avoid it unless necessary.

Please, don't bash Nouman's views on this issue, if you don't like what he says; forgive him and look at the 98% good work he's doing for the youth today. Personally speaking, there is an attitude in "Third world cultures" where men tend to point finger at women in a means of not losing their authority over them, therefore Muslim women never find respite, mercy or gentleness (remember that women were created from a bent rib) from the men in our society. If a divorce occure; it's the women fault if kids turn out bad; it's the women fault if the man isn't happy; it's the women fault and if her husband is not successful; it's the women fault...I can go on and on. The bottom line is, many of us live in the Western world and we look at the non-Muslims, this phenomenon doesn't exist in their society. So, my dear Muslim Brothers, remember where does heaven lie (beneath your mother's feet), and your wives and your sisters are current and future mothers.

This is why I have immense respect for Maulana Tariq Jameel. In all his videos to do with the husband and wife relationship he holds both men and women accountable and truly respects women for their modesty as well as their intelligence as per the teachings of the Quran. there's such thing as emotional cheating. It is little things that add up in your mind "I wish my wife looked like her or was smart like her or outgoing and fun like her" then at the end of the day you see your lazy ugly wife and resent her and are mean to her... instead if you "look away" literally or metaphorically and spent the day thinking the things she does well and you like, then when you come home she will look lovely. Good video, but a simple smile is not the solution to all your problems. Marriage in the new age is different to what it used to be. Expectations are changed. Women work now too, and a bigger balance of roles is required within the home. But yes, a smile and respect from BOTH the husband and wife will go a long way. Islam is my religion ...I love Allah and Rasool Allah..I completely agree with Quran and the sunnahs...I'm a Muslim and I'm proud to be one....Quran is not written on Rasool Allah view points ,it's a message from Allah it's the word of Allah... You be happy with what you choose to follow or unfollow ...I'm happy with what I am.....and last thing I just want to say is I don't need to learn Quran with an "open mind" to be able to respect and follow it...but you need to understand Islam with an open heart...
