Mom with baby who's been in & out of the hospital is moved to tears with this Secret Santa surprise

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local Secret Santa give $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season. This is the ninth year the Secret Santa is blessing people in our community and every day, from now until the end of the year, we will post videos of the recipients being surprised with these life-changing gifts.
Whitney has three young children including 9-month-old Charlie. In August, Charlie began having seizures and was rushed from Madison Memorial Hospital to EIRMC to Primary Children’s Hospital. She was put on a number of medications to stop the seizures and ease her pain. She was put through countless tests, blood draws and X-rays with no answers from any doctors.
Eventually Charlie was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder. It will require a lot of doctor's appointments in Utah and Idaho Falls, about 40 minutes from their St. Anthony home.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves if we could drop by Whitney's home with some early Christmas gifts. Watch the surprise in the video player above!

❤ Yesterday, I donated hundreds of dollars worth of children's books about animals and insects to a local children's hospital. I also gave some Christmas gifts like girls jewelry and boys some beautiful snow globes, journals and one handmade turtle backpack and one handmade horse purse. It made everything special to me that I could give some happiness like this news organization does ❤

Secret Santa is the best part of my morning. This one hit home today. Neutropenia is very serious. My daughter has cyclic neutropenia. It took until she was 4 years old to be diagnosed by a bone marrow biopsy. I pray they have a good insurance plan as the medication is thousands of dollars per month. Started at 15,000 per month and 12 years later is 7,500 per month. The hospital admissions are scary when having to be on Vancomycin IV to treat the infections. This stuff is so strong it can burn the veins so they can’t leave the IV in the same place. I truly have this family and that sweet baby in my prayers.

My youngest son has neutropenia and it’s such an exhausting process. We were blessed to live right down the road from the top specialist in the world for the disease. Dr newburger. I wish this family all the best going forward. My son actually grew out of the disease by the time he was 3, I hope the same happens here and sweet Charlie and go on to live a normal healthy life!!

My niece has exactly the same disease.. it takes a while to diagnose but means lots of bloods and lots of IV’s as oral antibiotics tend not to work. It’s good that Charlie got it at a young age as infancy autoimmune neutropenia is possible to grow out of. But also there’s a possibility of needing a bone marrow transplant if things don’t improve
