Brother, in Chamorro (Mariana Islands) to chew betelnut is mama’, which is really close to your moma’ and I also saw another variant is also mama. The other word you mentioned ngalngal is very similar to our word ngangas, which is the general word for chew. So cool to discover the similarities!😊

I have a question if somebody can answer it. If you continuously take beetle nut(MoMÀ), say for six years. Will it permanently stain your teeth? Like to the point, where brushing your teeth no matter how many times will not get it back to its original color white. The reason I’m asking this is because the mother of my child is from the Philippines. She would always say the reason her teeth are stained is because of the water in the Philippines. If you can help with an answer I will greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

The thing is the center point of all of it is the tobacco. They put tobacco so it’s just another chewing thing. U can also see the guy who chewed for a long time has decaying teeth aswell. That’s tobacco
