Some of the plays are dirty because due to players not being honest. Some of umpires call are stupid not dirty, because those umpires are just stupid. However, this video can consider dirty. Even use extra scene to make it more dramatic. 2:20. opponent can't see even they have better view then umpire point of view. Worse the serving hand signal is some how say "oh yes we got a point", and even add in coach reaction. I'm sure that reaction is from that same game but not react that play. Who here play badminton and sometime thought you didn't hit the bird but someone else or even your partner call double hit? Sometime even touch shirt or body part when a player is moving and loud it is hard to feel if something touch your body or not. Not impossible but hard. Of course, some plays in this video, some of the players are obviously don't have good sportsmanship.

some of them even with the slowmo is hard to tell. for eg, 5: i think he missed it but the wind from his racket swing caused the shuttle to wobble. need more camera angles/close ups to see if it really touched or not IMO. so the commentators are not necessarily correct. 8: the rules state its legal as long as the contact point of the shuttle is on your side...if you pause the video at around 5:59 u can see the shuttle passed the net slightly...honestly without replays, by the naked eye its very difficult for the umpire to judge. but this one is wrong. wouldnt say its as bad as some others though. so the commentator Gill is also wrong here. 9: no idea whats going on here. but looks like an umpire on a power trip. some of the linesmen are old people...just wondering if their eyesights are even checked. or even if they have basic training on the rules/making sure their attention spans are adequate. most of them are volunteers as well maybe (due to how badminton doesnt have money to hire that many people perhaps)...so this doesnt help in the quality of the line calls.

5. I can clearly hear the swing of the racket without hearing the sound of hitting the shuttle. I don't think it's possible to have hit the shuttle and made no sound. I'm also leaning towards it being the wind that made the shuttle wobble. Camera totally didn't help, so watching that replay and go like "yep, he touched" made no sense.

@@xyzcv5 they (the commentators) are claiming it touched cos the shuttle was wobbling...but the wobble couldve been caused by other indirect stuff like wind from the racket, and not direct racket contact...which maybe they didnt consider...

I have watched that 5 times, cannot see where a fault was made. Can't be service fault as those are called out immediately, other than that it was a normal rally and the opponent hit the shuttle wide/out.

If I remember correctly, the reason is because china's coach is shouting "out" before the shuttlecock lands and the umpire takes it as interfering with the match.Even though I'm sure Zheng/Huang knew it was out Edit:my bad, china's coach didn't even say "out", but he was just celebrating before the shuttle lands. Add another "referee that able to check replay " and give the authority change umpire wrong judgement call. ( especially those that very obvious one like those that never even close to touch the shuttle yet being call fault). It is not like couldn't solve issues when " umpire clearly make a wrong decision/mistake yet refuse to admit it" end up player being the victim. The solution is not hard but bwf dint even plan to settle it. Just like those "cross net boarder" hit , and those " wrong call on touch floor " where it isn't. Those can clearly see with replay but instead of solve it, bwf direct cut of the /refuse to put replay of the wrong decision " so you got no prove " . Instead of solve the problems they close the problems. among all of these ctc I think is one of the most " victim " player due to this " umpire stupid mistake but refuse to admit it " how many time I see ctc got call fault when he dint make and lose point + tournament due to umpire decision.
