'Moment to make peace': 'No military solution to Palestinian question', only solution is 'political'

Spain, Ireland and Norway said Wednesday that they would recognize a Palestinian state on May 28, a step toward a long-held Palestinian aspiration that came amid international outrage over the civilian death toll and humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip following Israel’s offensive. Currently, seven members of the 27-nation European Union officially recognize a Palestinian state. Five of them are former east bloc countries who announced recognition in 1988, as did Cyprus, before joining the bloc. Sweden announced recognition in 2014. As this unprecedented move increases momentum for the recognition of a Palestinian state by other EU countries, FRANCE 24's François Picard is joined by Hala Abou Hassira, Ambassador, Head of the Mission of Palestine to France.

Recognizing a state that's still detaining over a hundred hostages?

The Biden administration, Saudi Arabia and Norway have already chosen Mohammad Mustafa as the future leader of the so-called Palestinian State. Norway was behind getting Island`s recognition of the Palestinian State, the Biden administration was behind Ireland's recognition and EU`s Joseph Borrell took care of Spain's recognition. I predict that there will be some difficulties to get Iran and their proxies to recognize Mohammad Mustafa as the leader of Palestine. To say the least. That same applies to Russia and China. "The territorial demarcation between the state of Palestine and the state of Israel should be based on the pre-1967 borders, with Jerusalem as the capital of both states." I predict that there will be difficulties to get Israel to accept the borders the Biden administration, Saudi Arabia and Norway have decided for the Palestinian State. To say the least. My question is this: how realistic is the "new" plan the Biden administration, Saudi Arabia and Norway have for the future of Palestine? It sounds a lot like all the failed previous plans. Many plans look great on the surface and in theory, but when tested in the real world they are more than often not even worth the paper they are written on. The "new" plan for Palestine President Biden and "his" administration are trying to get accepted all around the globe is not great even in theory. It has zero realism in my opinion.

If there had been no military action, Hamas would still be reigning supreme. The international community did nothing to get rid of Hamas. Even now, they have no solution to the problem of Hamas. Israel has a military solution for Hamas. The world has none.

The "international community" has tried to stop Israel from fighting with its northern neighbour for close to half a century. Israel isn't receptive to the idea -- I saw it with my own eyes while there.

There was no state of Israel until 1948 and now it is a thriwing democratic nation. Until 1905 Norway did not exist as a nation it was first a part of Denmark and then it became a part of the Union between Sweden and Norway. Times change.
