Law enforcement have to operate somewhat within the law. When a person signs paperwork to send the money to a scammer or it is them, sending the money from their IP address, it makes it hard to prosecute. Most scammers are outside of the country where they scam people from. International laws make it even harder. It's very time consuming, by the time the scammer is tracked down, the money is gone & scammers sometimes go into hiding if they feel that someone is too close for their comfort in tracking them down. Pierogi dedicates his time to one thing - thwarting scammers, wasting their time, exposing them. It's somewhat rare, however, Pierogi sometimes gets the money back. A police force in any country has to deal with so many different crimes other than cyber-crimes. It's a really good thing that many KZbinrs are doing what police have far less time to do.
@ShadowGirlyz9 ай бұрын
Police actually have no jurisdiction over this kind of thing unfortunately. I worked in banking for a few years. If someone signs of consents to something, there is nothing law enforcement can do. Most scammers are outside the U.S and cannot do anything. Also, law enforcement in other countries don't do anything either. We do need a dedicated scammer sort of law enforcement.

The rest we are still struggling to payoff because, once they broke her, they convinced her to open a $30,000 credit line at Bank of America. When she got home from the bank, she called the scammers to use some of that credit to make a payment to them. They told her that tge card was declined. Further investigation showed that the entire balance had been cleared before she had even left the bank by a third party. Obviously, the third party is in cahoots with the scammers, but they took a stance that they would help her get that mobey back for a $1200 fee. She paid that in installments out of her social security check, which is now her only income, and her only money.

There was a story in my local papers where a bank teller got yelled and cursed at for preventing an elderly from withdrawing cash cause it was a scam, but the elderly believed the scammer more than the bank teller. Bank tellers are also a line of defence to these scams and they got my huge respect for caring and trying to prevent them.

I remember when my moms account got hacked into and EUR500 got drained out of it, she woke up crying and that really hurt me to know that most banks nowadays dont even ask for verification through email or phone number too nowadays. Luckily I had enough to give back the money that was stolen, but its extremely messed up when it comes to the standards of banks and card companies nowadays when it comes to purchase verifications.

I don't understand how scam websites are able to be at the top even over actual websites. I have completely warned my parents and for those who have elderly people in your families who do not have much computer knowledge, please tell them to be safe and contact you before they do or call anything. And even set up safe words with your family that way even if someone impersonates your voice, they have a way to verify whether it is truly you or not. Absolutely love this channel

The problem is, they will be asked to use Anydesk while the sammers are trying to scam them. So most of the time, they will make sure the victims don't talk to you, until the scam is over. I don't know if it is possible, but I guess it would be better to proactively warn the customers, before they even have heard of it. Please don't take that as hate, it is great that you try your best to warn people of stuff like that.

India has amazing people and an amazing millennia old culture. Also the Indian food is just legendary! The problem is that there’s no true form of government that pretends these scams from happening. The authorities don’t care or are even in on in. The bosses never get arrested because the politicians and police chiefs are often friends with those rich people and even get donations from them! This means police and politicians profit from the scamming and the stolen money goes directly into their pockets! This needs to stop and the disgusting politicians and police officers that benefit from it need to go to jail for a long time! Unfortunately India is to big, poor and corrupt to prevent those things from happening.. This means the bad apples will continue to poison the well for everyone else, which makes me angry for all the good upstanding Indian people! They don’t deserve it to be thrown into one pot with those disgusting scammers!
