Respawn, don't dare taking this tech out. I'll literally bonk you so hard! I realized that the tutorial part is "haha, I have no idea how it works, just play around with it." and i didn't even make a that's what she said joke with it smh my head man.

i think that's still tap strafing
@janmagtoast3 жыл бұрын
it's just names. the term tapstrafing is mostly used for scroll wheel tapstrafing, which this technique is an alternative to. call it however you want, but i'm keeping my clickbait

@@janmagtoast i get that but the input's are the same
@janmagtoast3 жыл бұрын
@@Icesweats tapstrafing only uses one input direction. the thing that i'm calling redirecting or momentumshifting uses multiple input directions 😎 ok, but really, your point is valid, at it's core both techniques are the same. both use lurches to chance your midair direction faster. i get that. but i'm still keeping my clickbait. i think it's fair to call it a different name than tapstrafe bc the execution of the tech is so different
@Icesweats3 жыл бұрын
no it doesnt, you still have to tap tap whatever dirrection you want to go before you spam w or s, your just doing it without scroll wheel bro, keep your bait but your making this more convoluted than it is

@@Icesweats actually, comming back from it. after looking a bit more into titanfall movement i guess you're right... kinda. in titanfall tapstrafing got it's name from tapping the inputs instead of scrolling a wheel and it was used for the tap tap strafing. so it probably makes sense to call them tapstrafe and scrollstrafe if you wanna go that far, but since a lot of ppl already use the term tapstrafe for scrollstrafing in apex (and i'm talking about apex here, not titanfall) i like using a different term, bc the way tapstrafing is used in apex implies having a scrollwheel direction bind or spamming one key. momentumshifting/redirecting on the other hand just describes the midair motion change that you can achieve through a lot of different things in this game. once again, we're just arguing about terminology. the term momentumshifting/redirecting is mostly used for non-scrollwheel tapstrafes and i think it's still fair to call them that. language is based on how ppl use it and if you wanna tell the community to call tapstrafe scrollstrafe and redirecting tapstrafe, you're free to fight for it. thumbsup emoji

Do you know any good console video for this?
@janmagtoast2 жыл бұрын
It's impossible on consoles as far as I know. Momentumshifting works through lurches and lurches only exist for digital input. Joysticks on the other hand are analog. If you're on pc using controller you can use workarounds (like binding directional keys to controller buttons), but on console, sadly no.
